The Life and Times of Kami and her Four "Boys! Saturday, January 22, 2011. My sister-in-law has some friends in Gap, PA. And they brought us along to visit them. We had a GREAT time! It was nice to be out of the city. Luke milked a cow for the first time! He thought it was so cool he asked to have a second turn. We got to bring some milk home and the boys still talk about the "special milk.". And, yeah, the boys want a puppy now. Posted by Adventures in Kamalot. Visit from the Pittsburgh Cousins. A low k...

Just wanted to give credit where it's due! Okay, so when I said we packed in the fun - I mean we REALLY did! SO - get ready for a long post, because we did a TON our second day . . . I was too, but much shorter and no hat! They were right in front of us. Awesome. For breakfast . . . Nothing better than their Banana Pudding! Me and my BFF!

The Life and Times of Kami and her Four "Boys! Saturday, June 28, 2014. The "not - so - perfect" moving day . . . I had said from the beginning that this was going to be our best move yet! Having moved to 5 different houses/apartments in our 4 1/2 years in Philly, we consider ourselves (annoyed) experts! This photo was actually taken 2 days after the IV and oral meds - this looks GOOD comparatively! As we drove out, we said goodbye to many of the places we have come to love. The two older boys were i...

Juli's Wallpaper Notes: September 2012
http://julianaks.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
We love our Taylor boy. He is a good sleeper just like Simon. He giggles happily when we put him in his crib or give him his blanket or talk about his blanket. He knows how to say, "Bye bye Daddy." And he says "bottle," "Mama," and "bitey." He also says his own little words and streams of sound and likes to end with the "p" sound. He recently learned "no" and also will hit at my leg and say, "don't.". So much growing has happened since around Easter time when the first of these pictures was taken. In a d...

Mostly Whole Grain Sourdough Bread Recipe. I got this recipe from my sister-in-law Tara, who has been making it for about a year and a half. She gave me some starter then, but I wasn't ready for the commitment. I threw away the poor thing so I wouldn't have to worry about killing it by neglect. In August, a friend Emily started talking "start," and I was ready to go! I emailed Tara, and she sent me her go-to recipe. We like it a lot. Scroll to the bottom to go right to the recipe. I covered it with a pla...

Spring Comes Every Year. Spring is that thing that I forget about every year, but it always comes, and it's so happy with its warm and cold, rain and wind, muddy shoes, thunder, sun. Backyard time with friend Solina. My friend Crystal, a graphic artist, does art with Josie and Simon once a week. We did finger painting a couple weeks ago. Why did I wait several years after buying the paints to open them, only to discover they were dried out? They still kinda worked . . . My "big half little" boy. Homescho...

Day Two of trip: Thanks to the Drummonds for a good night's rest in Chicago. We were charmed with them and their home (no pics! The family history tour continued with polish sausages in Chicago, where my dad grew up. We really enjoyed Chicago. It felt like we were in a movie. The Drummonds live right downtown, so the town homes are close together, and you can walk to eat or shop. Very cool. Got these cozy guys. See the pretty painted birds? More close together houses, driving around Milwaukee. We drove u...

My generous, vibrant, and talented friend Belize Kellerman took family photos for us in early November. The Old Main lawn on University of Arkansas campus was a great backdrop. I love the natural feel of the pictures she took. Wednesday, January 23, 2013. How do you feel about things this winter? Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Saturday, February 9, 2013. My beautiful and talented sister-in-law Hannah took some family pictures of us in the beginning of december. Scarlett is 7 months in these pictures. She took so many good ones that it was impossible to choose which ones to add to the blog, so I apologize for picture overload. Side note - Scarlett's eyes are really this blue, and she is really just this happy :) we are very lucky! Posted by Cassie and Doug Hansen. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Eastons (Tori and Mitch).

I forgot I have been wanting to post this picture of Simon's block creation forever. And I wanted to tell you that Simon is left-handed :). Tuesday, June 05, 2012. Blogging has been a little sparse lately, and taking a cue from my friend Becca. I am going to do a series updating on each of the kids. I will start with Number 2. When I was pregnant with Simon, I got the feeling, "this is a special little guy." And I have spent just over four years figuring out why. People follow rules, "snack math" and rea...
Juli's Wallpaper Notes: Force Fields
http://julianaks.blogspot.com/2015/05/force-fields.html
Last Monday night, we had a family lesson based on 1 Nephi 15:24. About how prayer and scripture study give us a spiritual force field. Then we drew pictures of what this might look like. Then we ate apples with Patrick's homemade caramel. It was a great night! Sunday, May 03, 2015. This is so great! What a fun FHE. and Kyles forcefield is awesome! May 03, 2015. Miraculous board game happiness. We did get snow and sleet and ice: a few doses of it too! There were days off of school and church. I had to take snow pictures because it's not so frequent here. Kyle stayed out probably two hours. He enjoys alone time. I suited up and played with him too. Sarah being a dog. A few different friends came over to play. I didn't get pictures of the Millers, but I got a few of the Lydas. Eating snow ice cream. These children are just lovely. They got along so well too. Chris...

The collected pen and ink stories from Phantsythat. Monday, February 4, 2013. I'd been in the department for three or four months by then and my initial fears about being among that many women were mostly gone. Mostly. The first day had felt like I'd been sentenced to one of those all female prisons that were popular in the movies back then. Remember ' Reform School Girls'. Disclaimer: I never have been in the habit of buying lottery tickets. It's just looking for trouble as far as I'm concerned. Long ag...

A Missionary Adventure
It is insufficient to proclaim that the Church has of God has a mission in the world. Rather, the God of mission has a church in the world. " - Tim Dearborn. Tuesday, September 22, 2009. These past two months I have re-adjusted to life in the states. There was no culture shock really- after last year I knew what to expect. I didn't experience any jet lag either(thank you Jesus! Pondering blessings, paybacks, and other cosmic jokes. What Winning Really Looks Like. A pair of 12 year old boys schooled me in sportsmanship today, and one of them happened to be mine. I honestly can’t remember being so inspired by a kid I knew, doing the right thing…and the fact that it was my kid has humbled me beyond belief. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what a winner really looks like. Yet again, I am inspired and humbled by the little human in my house, and those that have helped me to create...
