Never resign yourself to the scandal of the separation of Christians. Be consumed with zeal for the unity of the Body of Christ. — The Rule of Taize´—. Monday, May 10, 2010. ROBERT : I am stealing your words . . . . I am stealing your words, fine ones that they are —. There is enough tension between the confidence of life and the chaos of dying and the misery of returning to dust and the mystery of rising again to keep us clinging to our prayer . . . Confidence, chaos, misery, mystery — clinging. There a...

Long legs, short steps: Wildwriting
http://longlegsshortsteps.blogspot.com/2011/09/wild-writing.html
Long legs, short steps. Thursday, September 29, 2011. Tonight was the first meeting of our writing class. What fun it was! We had two Wildwriting exercises tonight. The first one had this topic: "When I write, I.". We were to expound on that however we felt led. I enjoyed it so much that I've decided to share it with you. Enjoy! How do I keep from going under? When I write, I need to use a different notebook. Or learn to write right-handed. October 1, 2011 at 1:21 AM. Keep dancing; keep writing! Training...

Serving Writers and Creators. Where do good ideas go when they can't be found? When you seem to be out of ideas, you actually are not. You've simply left the "idea frame of mind.". When you go to sleep at night, your mind will start spinning dream after dream, image after image. A multitude of ideas are still there, inside you. Your challenge is to find that creative mindset where ideas show up consciously. And some visual prompts, too:. Image credit: stockfreeimages.com. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Never resign yourself to the scandal of the separation of Christians. Be consumed with zeal for the unity of the Body of Christ. — The Rule of Taize´—. Thursday, December 17, 2009. BEN : I need the Advent. . . . I need the Advent. And the timing couldn't have been better! One of my favorite parts of this time of year is the hymn "O come, O come, Emmanuel." The words drip with tragedy and expectation, defeat and hope. I wait all year to have permission to experience these haunting words again. Beyond the ...

Never resign yourself to the scandal of the separation of Christians. Be consumed with zeal for the unity of the Body of Christ. — The Rule of Taize´—. Thursday, July 1, 2010. BEN : It still strikes me as odd . . . . What if I don’t like Ordinary at all? I’m liking less and less the need to get on a plane and miss yet another pillow fight with my three year old who just loves it when I gently knock him down with a sofa cushion, only to spend a few minutes on the floor laughing and then finding the ...

Long legs, short steps. Monday, September 17, 2012. I suppose we'll see. For any of you who haven't been following my Facebook posts, and therefore either in a coma or living in another galaxy across the universe, here's the latest happenings with yours truly. Never resign yourself to the scandal of the separation of Christians. Be consumed with zeal for the unity of the Body of Christ. — The Rule of Taize´—. Thursday, May 20, 2010. BEN : Stealing my words . . . . Stealing my words is much less an offense than my being haunted by the words you wrote — returning, rest, salvation, sabbath, letting go. I am terrified I will never be able to receive the gift hidden within the practice of such things. I have a burning need to find the News somewhere between our wor...

Long legs, short steps
http://longlegsshortsteps.blogspot.com/2011/09/i-havent-forgotten-about-this-blog-i.html
Long legs, short steps. Tuesday, September 27, 2011. My struggles are private, and should I decide to share them, I'm not too likely to broadcast them online for the world to see. It's almost like I'm caught in limbo, my mind tossing back and forth like a tennis ball. Alternating between constant inner turmoil and yet still with hopes of cathartic healing. I want the latter so badly, yet fear the knowledge of the former. Do I risk losing that which I hold dear? Will it end badly if I do take the chance?
