A view from Shoognanistan. June 17, 2015. June 17, 2015. The first tip– It’s about survival… for the bike and body. Doug. Mentioned this to me more than once, for good reason. Bring multiple kits and get the laundry package, freshly washed kits every day (don’t overstuff the bag) We had a warmish dry year, but bri...

Charlie rides a bike: VT50: Micro Bucket List
http://charlieridesabike.blogspot.com/2014/09/vt50-micro-bucket-list.html
Charlie rides a bike. Monday, September 29, 2014. VT50: Micro Bucket List. Every year I hear friends rave about the VT50. And every year there has been some reason for me not to do it. Finally the stars aligned and I was sitting at my computer hitting refresh the Sunday before Memorial Day waiting to sign up. Was kind enough to let me out of work a couple hours early too so I could pick up my race packet during the mandatory check-in window. 3:45 AM breakfast and coffee. The theoretical whistle blows (I ...

bikesandbeer: On The Road To Recovery...
http://bikesandbeer.blogspot.com/2013/12/on-road-to-recovery.html
Thursday, December 12, 2013. On The Road To Recovery. Since I tore my ACL and medial meniscus I have been doing everything I can to make my knee strong going into surgery. It started off with some simple exercises and stretches, then progressed to riding. I started on the trainer, then the road bike and eventually I was able to ride my mountain bike. I got in 3 months of solid riding culminating in an awesome road ride led by Fatmarc. I will see you all out there soon. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://bikesandbeer.blogspot.com/2014/11/lots-of-riding-and-new-adventure-on.html
Saturday, November 15, 2014. Lots Of Riding And A New Adventure On The Horizon. I am now just over 4 months post surgery and things are going well. I still have days where it doesn't feel great, but for the most part I'm feeling a bit more normal. I've been riding as much as I can, and I am really enjoying my new mountain bike. I like it so much I've decided to sell my Ti Lynskey. $3000.00 if you know anyone interested. This year I am joining here in France for the Etape, plus the tour package.

bikesandbeer: Steady Progress...
http://bikesandbeer.blogspot.com/2014/08/steady-progress.html
Saturday, August 23, 2014. I am still a few weeks from being able to ride. I was told 10-12 weeks after surgery. I have spent some limited time on the trainer, but mostly have been sticking to hiking and walking. But, that has hit a snag as well. I was doing a nice hike with Lauri, when I tweaked my knee.
