Tuesday, November 2, 2010. A Cook's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Chapter 1 (Continued). 8220;Seriously, Gigi, that’s terrifying,” Mona stammered. “What ever happened to the homeless guy? 8220;What did Gregoire translate the man’s story as? 8220;That was the semi-weird part of an entirely weird morning,” Gigi said. “Gregoire would only say that the man, whose name was Adolphe, found his attacker near Hôpital Hôtel-Dieu.”. 8220;So,” Gigi said, pausing, “how’s that chai latte? Mona looked at her friend a...

Wednesday, November 3, 2010. A Cook's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse - Chapter 1 (Continued) - Quiche Recipe Included! The storefront of The Buttery Biscuit sported huge glass windows, a pale yellow and black striped awning, and a neon sign with a fluffy buttermilk biscuit and a bright yellow pat of melting butter dripping down the sides of the carbtastic sign. Every time Mona pulled up to her shop she had to pinch herself. Was this really happening? When I look outside my window. As the small kitchen be...

Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Break-up Soup: Corn, Potato, and Gruyère Deliciousness. 8220;There is logic and order to cooking. What you put into it has everything to do with what you get out of it. With love, it’s not so cut-and-dried.”. 8211;Giulia Melucci, I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti: A Memoir of Good Food and Bad Boyfriends. I was, of course, hurt after the phone call. I cried. I watched Season 1 and 2 of Dexter. So, how do I move on from this small heartbreak? Corn, Potato and Gruyère Soup.

Wednesday, November 3, 2010. A Cook's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Chapter 1 (Finished). 8220;What the fuck, man! 8221; Mona shrilly yelled with far more authority than she knew she had in her. “What the hell are you doing lurking at the back door of my bakery? 8221; the creature moaned. With the last bit of force left in Mona, she gripped her left hand tightly around the knife and stabbed the man in the back. He immediately dropped her. Mona fell to the ground with a thud – the knife sk...He started ...

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Birdie Bag and grandma time. I spent the weekend with my grandma a few weeks ago. We made a dress, a pair of boxers and a sling bag. She was generous enough to let me dig through her scrap stash and snag some buttons from her incredible collection after I realized in my moving fervor that I'd thrown all of mine in a bag of stuff to go to Goodwill back in Florida. So fresh from my trip to Missouri, I dug out the sewing machine this week and put together my own sling bag. Last weeke...

Finding Foodie: July 2009

http://findingfoodie.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Wednesday, July 8, 2009. What we ate: 4th of July. Our contributions were simple:. Breakfast Burritos were what you'd expect- eggs, sausage, potatoes, onions, salsa, cheese. What makes them special is cooking them outside and eating them by a campfire. That's a good reason to get up off the floor of a tent in the morning. Sausages were from Kramarczuk's. There was other food of course- steaks with baked potatoes and sauteed mushrooms, chicken salad with grapes, gas station coffee and Guinness.

Finding Foodie: Dip.

http://findingfoodie.blogspot.com/2011/01/dip.html

Thursday, January 13, 2011. I could survive on dip, I am quite certain. Chips and dip, fancy crackers and dip, bread and dip. I am a dip fanatic. More often than not I like a good tortilla chip with my dip. I like the crunch, the salt, the perfect vehicle for whatever I'm eating. Potato chips? Meh I'll take some toasty corn goodness. It's definitely dip season. Thanksgiving, Christmas, late family Christmas with my dad's family in January. I'll bring dip, but which one? Is my repertoire getting old?

Finding Foodie: Book Club?

http://findingfoodie.blogspot.com/2010/03/book-club.html

Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Since I'm in the middle (well, almost middle) of another pregnancy where the things I can eat borderline on totally unhealthy (chips and Frito's Spicy Bean Dip anyone? And really unappetizing I'm going to try and at least THINK about good food. You know, the stuff I used to spend hours reading cookbooks, magazines and websites to find. But right now it's not going to happen- a moderate case of HG. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We Are Not Martha. Taste With the Eyes.

Friday, January 15, 2010. What to Feed a Toddler? Before the boys were born I had great ambition to make all their food from scratch. Organic! It was all so idyllic. And for a few months, so EASY! We had boys who ate spinach on an almost daily basis. We had a freezer full of purees that ranged from the plain and simple apple sauce to the fancier mango-pear-squash combo and the always favored edamame-spinach concoction. It was awesome! Then they started eating solid foods. I think we're going to check the...

Finding Foodie: March 2009

http://findingfoodie.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 20, 2009. Friday nights are designated Mom time. Now Mom, daughter and grandson time, but, still the same routine. Yes, John is here most nights, but he has no interest in Friday Night Lights, he's just here to eat, hold babies and do a little yoga while we sit on the couch with our drinks and watch coach Taylor save the day. I was not very good about posting menu's from our early dinners but there are a few posts here. Because because because because BECAUSE! I used to write. I've invited ...
