Save Open Space - Santa Monica Mountains. Film History of Ahmanson Ranch. Many historic movies were filmed at Ahmanson Ranch, then known as Lasky Mesa. Among the movies were Gone With the Wind. The Charge of the Light Brigade. And They Died With Their Boots On. The Moving Picture World, October 10, 1914. The Lasky company has acquired a 4,000-acre ranch in the great San Fernando valley o which they have built a large two-story Spanish casa which is to be used in The Rose of the Ranch.

WaMu should instead sell Ahmanson Ranch as a park. WaMu can't buy that kind of publicity. Biking in Ahmanson Ranch - April 2005. Last year I hiked around Ahmanson Ranch. In Calabasas. It's a new area set aside by the State of California. The trails were fresh and so was the wildlife. A horse and rider. What I didn't count on was the amount of growth and change that took place as a result of the heavy rains we had this year.
