While I can think of plenty of ways to use it in the classroom, I'm more interested in it from a personal perspective. I have tons of video that we've taken over the years, none of which has ever been viewed or edited. To Do the Write. Monday, October 18, 2010. Perhaps I’m easy to catch, but I couldn’t help but notice the emphasis of teaching students “skills in context”. Perhaps that was by design, or it could simply be because my research for my own Multigenre Research Paper (MGRP) (which has unfortunately pushed this post to the periphery) has a focus on this point as well. Either way, it caught my attention. MGRPs, from both the book’s description and even in our short experience so far in doing one on our own.

Saturday, October 16, 2010. The Powell and Davidson article, "The Donut House." made me think about how, when trying to spread a good idea around, the true benefit gets diluted. How many of us have gone on a field trip, maybe taken notes or drawings during the field trip, written or drawn up a report, and maybe written a thank-you note? I think so.
