Alert Bay Artfest began in 2008 in response to seeing artists having to leave the island to exhibit their artwork. 10 local artists and art lovers organized the first annual Artfest to coincide with Seafest in 2008. The venue was the former Lion s Den and the reviews were rave! Each year since has seen more artists join and an average of $4000 of art sold within the 3 days, with artist's keeping 100% profit of the sales. and all artists are from Alert Bay! This website is where you register on-line. Each year the Alert Bay 360 limits registration to 200 vessels. The registration fee is used to help purchase some of the incredible prizes which are given away by random draw at the awards ceremony. All you need to do is finish the race and your number will be entered in the random draws. Every year we award cash prizes to the top 3 male and female finishers in a single kayak. July 25 - 27 2014. Seafest is held in downtown Alert Bay along the picturesque waterfront. Table vendors, crafters, aspiring chefs line the street to sell their bounty to admiring locals and tourists alike. A complete family weekend of fun and none stop exciting events. Starting Friday 9 am and lasting til Sunday night 12 am.
