Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Voyage Into The Mountains. Three weeks ago me and the rest of the Douglas County Museum. Group visited the Glide Wildflower Show. And went on two waterfall hikes. And then Susan Creek Falls. It took us about an hour and a half to get there. We stopped at Colliding Rivers. And North Umpqua rivers. Though not quite in the Cascade Range. It was more montain than Maggie and almost as beautiful! The crik lead up to the waterfall. We then hiked up to the top. Free is where I want to be.

Sunday, March 30, 2008. These baby lizards, a skink and an alligator lizard, were only about five inches long. As adults the skink can be nine inches long and the alligator sixteen inches long. This is the skink when we found him in his hiding place. We found this two inch long grub while planting prune trees on Maggie. I'd like to see what type of beetle it will turn into. Ugly at first, metamorphs. Pictures below here were taken in or near Wildcat Canyon on Maggie. Grove in the canyon.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Grampa charlie (Grandpa Charlie) Visits Maggie. The name pretty much explains the entry. recently my grampa Charlie visited the ranch, we all had a good time. One of the first things we did was ride our bicycles around. We found a small ecosystem. At the end of our road. It was dominated by native Thimble Berries. And Blackberries and invasive Himalayan Blackberries. All of which were edible and delicious. Grampa in front of the ecosystem. For the Fourth of July.
