A Shimmer of Hope. A Shimmer of Hope. Join Loretta’s movement with a thumbs up for life! Loretta bumped her right thumb while running to answer the door. This led to a life-threatening situation that ended with the amputation of her legs, left hand and all the digits on her right hand EXCEPT her thumb. Shortly before she went into a coma, she gave her husband a thumbs up using that same right thumb when he asked her to fight for her life. 8220;A Shimmer of Hope”. That’s all it takes.
