A Little Reality: October 2014

http://alittlereality.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

A search for reality (or at least a little fun) in politics and life. Friday, October 31, 2014. Three Frighteningly Popular Reality TV Shows. In today's modern multichannel universe there is a television program for just about every bizarre taste. Remember the 1994 James Spader, Kurt Russell movie Stargate. Life appears on Earth? The planet was seeded by aliens. Aliens killed them off just a few thousand years ago to protect the humans that lived with them. Really happened, aliens. Moses at Mount Sinai?

It's gotten worse since then. Back in December the head of the NYPD union declared war on the citizens of the city. Throughout the country in the following months, police have been staging summery executions on the streets of their cities - an average of four a day between April 23 and 27. Links to this post.

A Little Reality: September 2014

http://alittlereality.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

A search for reality (or at least a little fun) in politics and life. Monday, September 29, 2014. Political Polling - Season of the Witch. It's a desire as old as humanity, the wish to know the future. That's why palmistry and tarot card reading are still things even though the only thing palm readers can tell is whether I work with my hands and and tarot decks can only reveal how well I shuffle. Modern, scientific polling is more accurate than reading goat entrails but that is not saying much. Pollsters...

Excerpts From the Jackass Notebook: Wear a Helmet

http://excerptsfromthejackassnotebook.blogspot.com/2009/04/wear-helmet.html

Excerpts From the Jackass Notebook. Friday, April 10, 2009. Because its just a good idea. These first two are the motorcycle helmet I was wearing the night that dumb bimbo mowed me down. These are whats left of my Bell bicycle helmet after a foolish attempt on my part to finish a descent at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. After breaking my chain. I was trying to conserve momentum. Needless to say my head served as a very effective breaking mechanism. BRAKING mechanism, right? April 11, 2009 at 4:55 PM.

Where God Went Wrong: God As Deadbeat Dad

http://myownweirdness.blogspot.com/2011/10/god-as-deadbeat-dad.html

Where God Went Wrong. God's Biggest Mistakes and Who Is This God-Person, Anyway? Tuesday, October 11, 2011. God As Deadbeat Dad. Thinking about God's first wife has led me to consider just what a lousy father and husband He is. When God split with his first wife, Asherah, he had his lawyers (the Levites) denounce her as a whore and demon - remarkably similar to how divorce attorneys behave now. She had a hard time after the breakup. He knocks her up and what does he do? So, what about Joseph? When Mary d...

Where God Went Wrong. God's Biggest Mistakes and Who Is This God-Person, Anyway? Saturday, April 23, 2011. A lot of ink has been invested in making the case that the Jesus story is a repackaging of the story of Osiris. Basically, Osiris was a god who died and was reborn although how many similarities you find depends on your interested in the subject or how freaked out you are by the concept that Jesus was a phony. For me, my favorite telling of an Osiris tale is from the TV show Stargate SG-1. Similar t...

Where God Went Wrong. God's Biggest Mistakes and Who Is This God-Person, Anyway? Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Christian evangelists are teaching school kids new uses for the Bible. The Gideons in Texas have been passing out free Bibles to students. Christian students have discovered:. The pages of Bibles are perfect for rolling joints. Where God Went Wrong. God's Biggest Mistakes and Who Is This God-Person, Anyway? Saturday, March 22, 2008. Easter Eggs and Bunnies. What do colored eggs and little rabbits have to do with the death and supposed resurrection of Joshua of Nazareth? Not a blessed thing. Easter is an old, pagan, holy day upon which the early Christians overlaid their Jesus story. Easter, the name. The Saxon goddess of fertility. It is curious that her name is strikingly similar to Ishtar. I hope you enjoy. The address is...

African Proverbs Political Opinion. History repeats itself: When weeds invade the land, it means the owner is absent. Filed in Current affairs. On September 25, 2014. Bull; 0 Comments. ISIS is not a creation of Allah! The weapons that they use to fight the infidels have the same origin, the same arms that supported the Mujahideen in Afghanistan. History is repeating again. The US and its allies believe in arming again the Syrian rebels with the hope to keep ISIS out of Syria and Iraq. Sign in with Twitter.

A Little Reading...

Monday, November 7, 2011. Reading Report: The Man in Lower Ten. Written by Mary Roberts Rinehart. The Man in Lower Ten. Was the first mystery novel written by Mary Roberts Rinehart, and is known as the first detective novel to appear on national bestseller lists (I haven't checked that out, but it sounds likely). Hmmmm Complicated enough for ya? From his partner, too. As a teen, I read quite a bit of MRR's work but haven't read anything by her in many years. Reading this has made me remember what a g...

Many of my friends and I enjoy bacon, and I have never had the chance to really create a recipe using it so why not just a taste to liven things up a bit. I chose sticky toffee pudding because I fell in love with it when an ice cream company made it as a flavor and have been hooked the moment I tried it. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1 egg, beaten.

A Little Rebellion Now and Then is a Good Thing. Movie Review: Ex Machina. Jean-Paul’s Rating: 4/5 stars. Bottom Line: A very effective minimalist movie with high production value. Some thing alittleRed 3. By some one a little insane. . . 12 April 2009 @ 01:03 pm. I'm a teenage, that's my excuse! I have written more of my novel! It was hopless before, but now I'm getting down to the nitty gritty stuff! Once my beta has done her open uni course work, she'll be having a look at it, so then I can start finishing up the prologue and post it on here. So, I happen to be going through a major Mark Sloan / Lexi Grey ship. Grey's Anatomy is making me giddy and girly- not my usual self.
