The Evolution of a Modern-Day Farm Wife
Winner, Winner, Wheat for Dinner! | Alive & Well in Kansas
https://aliveandwellinkansas.wordpress.com/2014/06/25/winner-winner-wheat-for-dinner
Alive and Well in Kansas. The Evolution of a Modern-Day Farm Wife. Winner, Winner, Wheat for Dinner! June 25, 2014. The 2014 Wheat Harvest for Baldwin Farms is officially underway! Between mechanical issues, unripe wheat, rain, and wet fields, there were moments when I wondered if we’d ever see harvest this year. A lot of folks decided to join in my anticipation of harvest by playing a little guessing game. We’d use the ticket from the elevator as the official timestamp for the game. I have a feeling you...

Fast forward three months and we have completed our 2014 fall harvest. The final night of our fall harvest, before it began to snow. We also ran through bean rows on occasion. More time inside should allo...
Fertilizing the Wheat | Alive & Well in Kansas
https://aliveandwellinkansas.wordpress.com/2015/01/03/fertilizing-the-wheat
Alive and Well in Kansas. The Evolution of a Modern-Day Farm Wife. January 3, 2015. When I was a single gal living in town, I had big plans to have the nicest, greenest yard on the block one summer. We won’t focus on how it turned out–especially since it barely rained that summer and I depended solely on rain to water my yard. Regardless, that spring I went out and bought a decent sized bag of fertilizer and a handheld spreader. You could actually see the little white granules covering the ground. It has...
Corn Harvest 2014 | Alive & Well in Kansas
https://aliveandwellinkansas.wordpress.com/2014/08/22/corn-harvest-2014
Alive and Well in Kansas. The Evolution of a Modern-Day Farm Wife. August 22, 2014. Where did the summer go? It seems as if wheat harvest just got done. Oh, wait. It did! Adam texted me yesterday letting me know he was going to try and cut some of our dryland corn. After school got out, Banks and I headed to the field. The corn was ready to be harvested, so Banks and I hitched a ride in the combine and rode with Adam for a little while. Winner, Winner, Wheat for Dinner! Three Months Later…. Keeping her b...

http://barnyardbarbie.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 1, 2013. Well a couple of months later, I noticed she was getting a little chunky in the mid-section. So I call the breeder back and ask if she could be pregnant. Camera Clicks and Commentary from a Kansas Farm Wife. Sunflower from the Sunflower State. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. For the past several few weeks, we've had the opening act, but no main attraction. Lightning has flashed outside the windows, and booming thunder has jolted us from our chairs with a resounding crash. But it's been all show until this morning. So far, we've had 0.60" of rain, and it's still falling gently. Since recent rains have gone north or south of us, our corn is looking stressed. ...
