http://travellingtrina.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Savarin - Daring Bakers April Challenge. I'm yet again late with the Bakers Challenge, but here it is! Gatti Fili e Farin. Challenges us to make a traditional Savarin, complete with soaking syrup and cream filling! We were to follow the Savarin recipe but were allowed to be creative with the soaking syrup and filling, allowing us to come up with some very delicious cakes! Mine was fairly straightforward ( as I was running out of time! It was WAY too wet! Thursday, April 18, 2013.

Thursday, June 27, 2013. June Daring Bakers Challenge - Pie! This month was a bit crazy ( as they all seem to be) how ever I was able to whip up a pie in the nick of time. I was actually really excited to do this challenge but wasn't sure whether I'd be able to with my travels to the ship (more to come soon! Was our lovely June 2013 Daring Bakers’ host and she had us whipping up delicious pies in our kitchens! Cream pies, fruit pies, chocolate pies, even crack pies! There’s nothing like pie! Trina's Travels: September 2012
http://travellingtrina.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 24, 2012. I've made a sort of discovery over the past week . as the seasons change from Summer to Autumn. as the trees surrender to the alluring pull of the color change. Up on the hill behind my house, the once varied shades of green give way to the rusty tones of yellows, browns and oranges. I always knew I liked Pumpkin Pie. it simply doesn't taste like pumpkin! I don't know, but this is one veggie that I can get down with in Baked goods ;). This is Tracy Shutterbean's Pumpkin Cake.

Trina's Travels: October 2012
http://travellingtrina.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Last night's cooking efforts were a bit of a cheat . It was baking ;) with an amazing recipe that almost makes me never want to buy pizza again. Seriously so easy! I havent quite mastered the pizza sauce yet, so that needs some more work. Although I'm not quite sure why Pizza is supposed to be unhealthy. Really. To me, with a bit of salad on the side, this is a perfect dinner! Tuesday, October 30, 2012. And decided that I'll cook (almost) all of the recipes in it to teach mys...

Trina's Travels: June 2012

Friday, June 29, 2012. I've been wanting to share for a while about the phenomenon (how do you even spell that? That has taken this little town by storm. Germans don't seem to be overly patriotic from the outset. Their daily lives are not consumed by thier black red and gold flags, nor do they really hang them up anywhere. Its something that always struck me when I went to the States, how many flags you see around! Peter getting into the spirit of things :). Wednesday, June 27, 2012. This month's Daring ...

Trina's Travels: August 2012
http://travellingtrina.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Paris-Brest with Vanilla Creme. Kat of The Bobwhites was our August 2012 Daring Baker hostess who inspired us to have fun in creating pate a choux shapes, filled with Crème Patissere or Chantilly cream. We were encouraged to create swans or any shape we wanted and to go crazy with filling flavors allowing our creativity to go wild! I decided to go with a “Paris Brest” pastry instead of some shapes seeing as I didn’t really have a good piping kit ( Wish list! More on that soon.

Trina's Travels: At Sea
http://travellingtrina.blogspot.com/2013/07/at-sea.html
Monday, July 1, 2013. The month of June held the hightlight of the visit to the ship. I made the long (ish) journey from Germany to the small town of San Fernando, Philippines. This was pretty much with all modes of transportation except for live ones :) - no animals ridden quite yet! Starting out with the ever efficient German Trains, flights, a taxi, a bus, and last but not least a moped taxi. Oh, and of course, I have been on a ship! How old are you? And "are you married? I was on board for some meeti...

Trina's Travels: Little People, big hearts
http://travellingtrina.blogspot.com/2013/07/little-people-big-hearts.html
Thursday, July 4, 2013. Little People, big hearts. In my line of work, people stick around. not all but some. And when those people are little people that you see grow up, its an absolute joy. One of my highlights of this latest trip to the ship was catching up with some friends I hadn't seen in a little while. One I have known since she was about 3 months old (now a big 5 year old! And the other since she was just 2. I loved hanging out with them, going places and even baking with Esty! Talking about Ja...

Monday, July 29, 2013. Benefit #1 of LDR : Spontaneous Dates. Friday morning, I get an email that goes something like this: "Would you like to meet me for lunch tomorrow? So while he suggested lunch, I countered with dinner which then turned into an overnight. Why spend only a few hours together when you can spend a few more! One of the many Busking groups. An additional element to the date was the spontaneous purchase of Opera tickets. Thankfully, he had the foresight to give me the heads up so I br...

Monday, May 27, 2013. Prinsesstara - Daring Bakers May! Korena of Korena in the Kitchen. Was our May Daring Bakers' host and she delighted us with this beautiful Swedish Prinsesstarta. This challenge, I was excited to do because its not so different from the many cakes that I make each Saturday when I help out at the Konditorei in town. Its a very typical German style cake ( who came first, the Germans or the Swedes? Piled high with Cream! On goes the lid. And decorated with leaves and goldness :). Reall...
