Monday, June 29, 2009. Once in base camp, the afternoon and evening has consisted of Eat/drink, clean bikes, shower, eat/drink some more, get massage, eat dinner, fix brakes on bike (turns out the spray bottles at the bike wash are lube not soap, DOH! And put together a blog post. Here some pics from the day. Yeah, we sported the Arrowsmith kits in Nanaimo. We got a lot of: "Hey Robin, you're doing awesome! We don't know you, but you're doing awesome too.". Game face on in the start corral. NOT! The star...

Blue Star: Stages 3-7
http://bluestarracer.blogspot.com/2009/07/stages-3-7.html
Thursday, July 09, 2009. The missed turn was apparently only 200 meters up the hill we had just come down. The road took us 5km back to the top of the descent. After re-riding the technical descent, the turn was much better marked with a stick and several pink ribbons. Maybe sabotage from the unruly locals? Stage 6 - Squamish! I've got some photos to upload later. So check back soon. Oh, next year? Thanks for reading,. What a race, what a ride. Congratulations on perservering and taking 13th.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Stage 1: Uphill TT. Spectators had a good view of the Strip from the course. Competitors couldn't enjoy the view because they were staring just ahead of their front tires looking desperately for some areas of traction. Don't have a problem with loose climbs. Wannabe Pros, on the other hand, had to run their bike. My time was about the same as this guy who was spectating on the side of the course. Stage 2: Super D. Rippin' in the desert. Again, semipros were run with the pros&...

Friday, February 29, 2008. In the bike industry, the latest trend is white, white, and more white. As the saying goes, "white is the new black.". I'll be rocking a full white kit at some races this year. It is not only stylish, but also functional on hot days to keep the core temp in check. I'm also building up a Giant XTC C carbon hardtail with full XTR and some Race Face carbon goodies. It is mostly white too! Wednesday, February 27, 2008. V02 Max Intervals and Disc Brake Powertap Update. To offset the...

Monday, March 31, 2008. The results from NMBS #1 at Fontana are available here. Legs were good and I went top 20 for my first go at the semipro ranks at a national level event. I was in striking distance of top-10 and my race tactics leave room for some improvement. I'll get a full report up soon. Probably with some pictures. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I am a cyclist. Friday, November 30, 2007. CX is evolving from the obscure to mainstream in the US. The rapidity that is happening is amazing. The New York Times even has an article. Today Who would have thought that riding a short off-road course on unsuspended (read, uncomfortable) bikes for an hour or so in miserable weather would become widely accepted? Whatever the reason, it's all good that more people are getting out on bikes. Gotta love the bike! Monday, November 26, 2007. Some CX at a frustratingly moderate pace.
