Also ran runner: Use your loaf

Irregular race reports and other runs by an almost athlete. Thursday, 10 April 2014. We went to recce the Sugar Loaf race, which is coming up soon. It's a really good circuit of seven miles or so and I found it a longer than expected pull up to the top. The descent is a steady gradient and with strong legs could be done with a fair amount of pace. 12 April 2014 at 10:31. Always cool to get out, even if its slashing down- but always a bit special when the sun comes out. 12 April 2014 at 17:32. Lads Leap F...

Irregular race reports and other runs by an almost athlete. Tuesday, 30 September 2014. Ran a steady one this year alongside Rich from work. We turned in a 3.45 which was respectable enough in view of fitness levels. Rich got a monster heel blister. I have a number of favourite races and this is definitely one of them. In the past I've reccied the route a lot and have a got a few choice lines that are well rehearsed. Little things please little minds. Here's to next year. 1 October 2014 at 15:51. Powse...

Irregular race reports and other runs by an almost athlete. Monday, 21 April 2014. Two minutes over the hour, but not a bad race overall. A great day out with Jamie, Mark and Tara. Beer was good too. 23 April 2014 at 07:52. I must be doing the wrong races. It is usually tea and cake, which is nice but its not beer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Irregular race reports and other runs by an almost athlete. Thursday, 17 May 2012. The Sky Tip and Brown Willy. Cassius, the guy at Clay Control, gave us the ok. And we wandered our hard-hatted, florescent. Jacketed and very thoroughly risk-assessed way onto the abandoned. Our work led us to the foot of the Sky Tip, a vast old spoil heap that's a local landmark and towers over St Austell. Although vegetated now, it's still basically. And headed off for a jog up Brown Willy via Catshole. Not A Good Sign.

Irregular race reports and other runs by an almost athlete. Saturday, 2 August 2014. Out early on the dew sodden paths. Over the nature reserve and through confusing complexes of farm buildings. Past the old quarry and around to the back of Carn Pembury, a scab of rock in the heather gorse and backthorn. Then back down to the coast path before climbing again to Carn xx and over a series of more rocky outcrops. Spent the rest of the day on the beach, cooling legs in the sea. 2 August 2014 at 09:27. 4 Wind...

Irregular race reports and other runs by an almost athlete. Monday, 31 March 2014. Ran a good race and gave it a fair go. But the legs lacked punch on the climbs and my energy faded away towards the end. I could have done with a gel I reckon. I was like cheap lager: cool and fizzy to start off with but warm and flat by the end. . Sunday, 23 March 2014. Monday, 17 March 2014. In preparation for the cleevewold, I took a trip upto Shropshire and hauled my sorry carcass round the Valleys route. It...Charli...

Irregular race reports and other runs by an almost athlete. Sunday, 22 April 2012. The hidden gem that's located on the scarp between Leckhampton and Crickley Hills is a good place to be on a cool and sunny Sunday morning. I have been trundling about of late, cautiously getting back on it. Bounding down on springy grass. Bell peals come upward. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Mad Runner - Dave's blog. Not A Good Sign. Also ran runner: Sugar Loaf expedition
http://alsoranrunner.blogspot.com/2014/08/sugar-loaf-expedition.html
Irregular race reports and other runs by an almost athlete. Wednesday, 27 August 2014. We escaped for the afternoon and headed out off up the Loaf. Reverting to type, equipped with new BIG. Compass I took the wrong path. We laboured through the bracken and onto the steps to the top before running back around the side. We hoyed some stones at a pond, counted dung beetles and found a dead shrew. The sound of wind through tree tops flicked a switch to another time and place. The Mad Runner - Dave's blog.
