短鯛(Dwarf cichlids)泛指一群體型相對於食用魚等級體型物種相對嬌小的慈鯛。在台灣，短鯛被引入大概是1985年左右的事。當時水族市場對這些魚感到非常新奇，但是所知不多，能夠獲得的資訊頂多就是德國與日本水族專家所寫的專書。養魚養到生病大概還有人可以問，但是講到鑑定短鯛？大概就很難有人可以幫上忙。因為魚類分類學界的不會搭理水族寵物市場中的動物，而水產界也不認為分類鑑定或生物學是非常重要的事。 所以短鯛界是怎麼冒出來的？是學者帶頭嗎？是政府鼓勵嗎？別鬧了。是業者領軍嗎？不完全是。其實，短鯛在台灣的繁養殖，一開始都是一群對熱帶魚瘋狂熱愛的非科班出身(我指的是生物或水產相關科系)玩家所奠定的基礎。 過去台灣曾有一些短鯛書籍。不過因為受限於過去已知物種的數量，還有出版社的財力與格局，以前的書總是在談少量物種的介紹，還有那些"套用所有南美小型魚都適用"的操作流程。以現在的眼光來看，不能說過時，但是那個知識量就是不太夠。所以我們需要一本新書了。 作者張永昌是個熱帶魚宅，是理組男，是工程師。他對短鯛的癡迷和經驗就是台灣精緻水草魚的發展歷程。他是一個安安靜...議題一：臺灣瀕臨絕種保育類野生動物&...

在台灣，外來動物的輸出入一向是非常複雜的議題，因為所有動物的輸入都會涉及保育、外來入侵風險、防檢疫、動物福利與產業需求五大面相，再加上涉及此事的主管單位與法律相當繁複，若非長期涉入這些事務是很難釐清的。 過去水產動物的輸入第一關口是漁業署，而漁業署則依據野生動物保育法第27條第1項設置「首次輸入外來水產動物活體審查小組」。這個小組的審查委員除了漁業署的長官、承辦人、相關學者專家外，有時候會邀請林務局保育組就保育議題擔任委員。在通過這個小組的審查之後，漁業署就會把准許輸入的物種羅列於「准許輸入水產養殖種苗名錄」、「准許輸入觀賞水產動物名錄」與「准許輸入食用水產名錄」中。 由於長期以來，我們的農漁業體系對經濟動物的定義太過傳統(只有食用動物是經濟性的)，忽視寵物市場上流通的數千種動物與產製品，以及每一種動物所可能衍生的保育、入侵性、動物福利與產業競爭性議題，所以根據過去的審核流程，就是林務局、防檢局、畜牧處、漁業署各做各的，出了問題再說，基本...雖然這個名單已經經過一些學者專家＂審查＂，但其中還是有一些我們認為有入侵疑慮的物種。所謂的入侵疑慮的評估是...紅寶石 ( Hemichromis lifalili.

(1999)的 論文. 超級二線鼠 (=短吻雙帶鼠) x 3. 人工繁殖的鼠魚的花紋為什麼會歪掉或變得沒有野生的那麼整齊或清楚呢？我想這個現象在C. sterbai中看得最清楚。Asai et al.(1999)的一篇論文提到斑馬魚的斑紋變化與一個叫"leopard"的基因有關，而且這個基因在琵琶鼠上的表現也會影響斑紋的複雜度。但是人工繁殖鼠魚的花紋變得淡、歪掉，或不夠複雜，真的是因為養殖過程影響了該基因的表現嗎？這個我不知道，但我覺得是可以繼續討論的方向 (就水族生產來說)。 寶貝鼠其實並不算是非常常見的鼠魚，雖然不算很貴，但也非常因為處理不當而變白死亡。正長的寶貝鼠體色應該是這種樣子，而不是慘白的樣子。我個人認為對這類的鼠魚應該要小心調整水質、快點餵胖、驅一下體內蟲，然後在檢疫期經常換水。 Sp 秘魯公主燈 x 2. 既然馬航的事陷入膠著，然後服貿一事打了架也沒有什麼下文，文林苑王家如何拆組合屋也不怎麼引起大眾興趣，感覺能在這幾天讓台灣這個只能靠各種確幸當麻藥的小島雀躍的似乎就是 「鹿茸」了。 其實我不想談政治也不談有多討厭馬英九，然後要不要對他不知道鹿茸是什麼窮追猛打。我只想問一件問題，馬英九不知道鹿茸是什麼，究竟是他自己一個人的問題？還是說，我們全民的平均科普或生物學常識都遠勝於他？所以我們選出了一個「常識不及一般大眾」的總統？ 我們經常認為台灣的科普與環境教育好像做得不足，然後除貓狗毛球和定食中會出現的生物以外，大眾對其它生物的認知好像也不太多。然而當我們的政治人物沒事對這類議題發表一些令人發噱的談話時(例如吳敦義的白海豚會轉彎和馬英九的水母友善一說)，我們又忽然發現社會大眾的科普程度似乎又遠比這些政治人物好太多。 那我們要期待總統是無所不知無所不曉的嗎？其實我不認為我們的總統應該對許多知識如此全能，他需要知道的是大方向、結構性的議題，他要知道怎麼評估情勢、培養幕僚，並信賴專家，做出有意義的決策。 訂閱： 文章 (Atom). 公務員獎評應嚴謹，但立委、記者和路人憑什麼貶低自己不懂的專業？ 此圖連結自Wikicommons http:/ commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mongolian Wild Horse 001.jpg. 今天(11/11)我看到一個讓我非常怒的新聞，也就是中時記者徐子晴所寫的" 傑出公務員 遭批有夠瞎. 12290;徐大記者這篇文章一出，馬上就看到電子媒體也做了，例如三立等台就在晚間新聞時到處亂訪問一知半解的路人，然後得到"真的很瞎很離譜還我稅金來"的結論。請問這些媒體在搞什麼鬼？新聞是這樣捏造的嗎？ 就可得公務人員傑出貢獻獎？為鼓勵優秀公務員，考試院每年頒發公務人員傑出貢獻獎，每年約有8人獲獎，1人可獨得20萬元。但得獎者皆為高階公務員，甚至有人僅因「移除蒙古野馬腸內糞石」就可得獎；且該獎僅以一紙行政命令頒發，無法源依據，遭立委、考委批「太瞎」。". 請問各媒體記者看過考試院的獎評記錄嗎？還是只根據需要上媒體作秀的立委助理發的新聞稿就寫出來了？然後為了發即時就開始胡扯了？ 以動物園來說，它是一個科學與教育場所，真的不是給你一天到晚辦活動讓各民...其實我可以同意立委所提...
