Hilltop Hausfrau: David Suzuki: Hero, Inspiration, Hair God
http://hilltophausfrau.blogspot.com/2015/04/david-suzuki-hero-inspiration-hair-god.html
Tuesday, April 7, 2015. David Suzuki: Hero, Inspiration, Hair God. Better late than never! I'm posting some pictures of a gallery reception meant to honor a local (national.a GLOBAL) legend, David Suzuki. A group of about 40 artists (including moi, bien sur) represented his visage in their respective mediums. I was interviewed as a participating artist too! This was my submission - comparing Suzuki to Bond, the incomparable intellectual with integrity. All thanks go to the very special gallery. I love se...

Thursday, July 30, 2015. A not-so-good experience in eBay. Warning long and maybe, annoying story ahead :). In fairness to this eBay seller, she was very accommodating and customer oriented. She clearly answered my queries, acknowledged my payment in less than a minute and ensured that I received my order the next day. I was more than impressed with her service. In fact I'm willing to consider reordering from her. On the way home, I received this unusual text from this eBay seller. Me : " Huh? I just wan...

Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Wanted : Long lost friends from South Korea. I have another mission this year. I felt the sudden inclination to search my long lost friends. Let me relate the story behind this. I mentioned in my 2015 Postcard Challenge. I'm not exactly sure what prompted me to unearth this supposedly closed chapter of my life. I guess it all started when a blog friend, Marieken. I already considered the possibility that my two friends already moved to new addresses. They may already have t...

Sunday, April 26, 2015. Beautiful Sunday # 157 - Homebound. In my mind, I still feel that summer has just started. When I checked my calendar, reality came in. One summer month down! Not really. My work load has been reduced but due to other unforeseen circumstances, I have to say that this is not the best time to become absent at work. Setting aside this uninteresting aspect of my life, here are snapshots of my past week. Season ending - The ambivalence at the workplace . It's a month of conflicting...

Sunday, August 30, 2015. Beautiful Sunday # 175 - Last for August. Nothing much happened this week. I finished a major project at work. I was given another set of project. Teaching took step back for a while because it was examination week. My only problem now is how to check the papers and compute all grades before I return for work. Added to this, I have to finish the final phase of my freelance work. Nevertheless, I'm thankful for all the opportunities. It's expensive at Php 60 in 7-11 stores. I took ...

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Chinese New Year Tradition. I have this annual Chinese New Year tradition with my friend T. Over the past years, we have been visiting Binondo or Manila's Chinatown, which happens to be the oldest in the world. We will eat at Estero,. Our favorite cheapskate restaurant and shop for tikoy. Nian gao) from Salazar Bakery and Eng Bee Tin. I forgot to take photos of our foodie indulgences. Blame the intense traffic and hunger! The perfect marker for any Chinatown. I can bear the ...

Sunday, July 19, 2015. Beautiful Sunday # 169 - Home alone. I'm home alone over the past days. The remaining members of the family went out of town to visit a relative. My mother was considerate enough to prepare meals for me. :) She knew I wouldn't survive a couple of days because the kitchen is not my territory. But I eventually got bored with menudo. So yesterday, I went to Goldilocks for dinner. I deserve it! Of random movie marathons. I guess it has something to do with her makeup and wardrobe.

Friday, July 17, 2015. Before this backache arrived, I was a bit rattled during the entire week. I overlooked my schedule and forgot an important work last Thursday. I was cramming from Monday until Wednesday. On those weeknights, I always end up feeling so hungry. Years before, I would often find myself in Taco Bell. :) But last Monday was quite different. I went to Rustan's Supermarket and purchased some of these. In the first place, what is Cotija Cheese? Another struggle, where will I buy kesong put.

My name is Diane and as you can see, I WANT TO WRITE! I have this dream of pursuing a career in the field of writing. When I finished Elementary, I wanted to become a Journalist. Things changed, I ended pursuing a degree in Economics. I always thought that Economics would be limited on numbers. Along the way, I realised that my quantitative degree still provides an opportunity to write. I was reunited with my first love through academic research writing. Ends up rushing the next day. I take different...
