Måns Sjöberg: Sketchcrawl at Rönnen
http://manssjoberg.blogspot.com/2015/07/sketchcrawl.html
Saturday, July 11, 2015. We met up at Rönnen just like a year ago, talked, drew, and painted for a few hours and then went on to see Hans Larsson's superb artshow in Arild. Ice-cream and coffee at the harbour afterwards. Thanks for this day of days, Lars Fredholm, Gunnar Tryggmo, and Peter Elfman! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Lund, Skåne, Sweden. Måns Sjöberg: Materials
http://manssjoberg.blogspot.com/p/materials.html
I've spent a fortune trying all materials that look good and aren't too expensive. I won't bore you with all the failed stuff but just show you the paints, brushes and papers I am using right now. I started making my own paints 25 years ago and they are now beginning to do their job. My palette comsists of Ultramarine blue, Prussian blue, New Gamboge, Scarlet lake, Permanent rose, Ivory black, Raw sienna, and Burnt sienna. My brushes are a Japanese goat hair hake and a round sable brush by da Vinci.

Måns Sjöberg: Work in progress 3
http://manssjoberg.blogspot.com/2015/05/work-in-progress-3.html
Thursday, May 14, 2015. Work in progress 3. Darks last. Soft, hard and broken edges and not too detailed for movement and immediacy. Everything works well in this picture. Reminds me of a visit to a colony in Namibia. Once you got used to the smell, it was a magnificent sight :). May 14, 2015 at 2:52 PM. The smell was awful but the sight was fabulous! Ive made a number of attempts with this motive, and as usual it is the simple compositions that work. June 21, 2015 at 10:15 AM. Lund, Skåne, Sweden.

Måns Sjöberg: Paint review: QoR 2
http://manssjoberg.blogspot.com/2015/07/paint-review-qor-pt-2.html
Sunday, July 5, 2015. Paint review: QoR 2. 40% more pigments is probably true. The paint also rewets well and is easy to judge in mixes because it keeps its color when dry, and I don't mind too much about the precipitating earth colors. I will definitely buy some more QoR colors when I get rich or when the price comes down. Aquazol seems to be an excellent binder. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Lund, Skåne, Sweden.
