wtf parenting: October 2010

Parenting on the spectrum. Saturday, October 16, 2010. Basically I think you need to post everyday and then publish a book out of your posts and rake in those royalty checks (you need SOME sort of compensation, heh.). From my dear blog friend, Katie. I like the way you think. I said something to that effect at the pediatrician's yesterday. I said, "Murphy better turn out to be some kind of Bill Gates and buy me a mansion when he gets older.especially if he is living in my basement.". Links to this post.

Thoughts from what's left of my brain. The little red dot on my telephone indicated a message was waiting. I’d put my phone on silence during a meeting, and the breaks were so busy that I didn’t even check. I rarely get calls, so sometimes I forget to monitor the phone. If you ever leave me a message, don’t count on me getting it right away. Email is a much swifter way to reach me. I dialed in to the voicemail and there was Buddy-roo. 8216;s signature greeting, “. As for the parents involved, they are bo...

Rockin’ Together | Maternal Dementia

Thoughts from what's left of my brain. I used to pay attention to new artists and new music. In a previous life I went to a lot of clubs and concerts, and learned about bands before they were big names. My college roommate – we both started out working in rock’n’roll radio – is still friends with musicians that most people only. When I have time. When I have time. Being the operative phrase. Still, my music playlists are seriously outdated. A song, she has to get my permission (and my iTunes code) becaus...

Thoughts from what's left of my brain. My de-facto husband would be a good husband. He is, effectively, just. A husband. Except we’re not married. It? S not because we? Re opposed to it; we just haven’t gotten around to it. When people ask me why we? Re not married, I should say it? S none of their business. But I? M usually too polite, so I tell them we? Re just waiting for the kids to get old enough to pay for our wedding reception. She adds and subtracts names at will. To the theme of. I knew her firs...

Thoughts from what's left of my brain. As we walked home from school, just the two of us, Buddy-roo. Reached out and took my hand. Is there any kind of smoking that isn? T bad for you? D just passed a lyc? Where a pack of high-school students huddled together outside the entrance. Nearly every one of them held a cigarette. The guys went for the pinched between the fingers. Ve made it a point to point out to Short-pants. And Buddy-roo how not only is smoking bad for your health, but it looks really. I gul...

A Weekend Done Right. We headed to Palm Springs for a wedding this weekend and I never wanted it to end. It was just one of those trips where you really got to relax and recharge. To laugh hysterically one minute and sit silently with your thoughts the next. To drink tequila at noon and eat pizza at midnight and laugh some more. Sometimes being a kid again is just what you need to do for a few days. Today, we’re back to the grown up grind. But we are taking it all on with a little more energy. It didn...

Carry On, Warrior. Bring G to You. Carry On, Warrior. Bring G to You. Get G in Your Inbox! Cool Ashes Can’t Burn Us. January 30, 2015. I believe that life starts when we stop running from pain and instead surrender to it. We can’t remain on the lam from pain forever. The running and deflecting and numbing. I posted it and your responses. How can I help you through the trauma? Yes I see this. This is real. We don’t need a magician to take it all away – we just need a witness.”. And Amy said, “I thin...

Gratitude powers, activate. Jett Superior laid this on you on July 14, 2014 8:46 pm. Today I found out that my car is kaput. Even though I have plenty of jokes about this situation, I am vexed about it, I’m not gonna lie. When I connected the date to its occasion, it made me think about all the ground I’ve covered (and the letters I’ve scattered across it in my wake! Those days weren’t always concurrent, by the way. How Violet Lost Her #DisneySide Birthday Party - That's Vandy
http://www.thatsvandy.com/2014/03/violet-lost-disneyside-birthday-party
How Violet Lost Her #DisneySide Birthday Party. March 21, 2014. We planned the perfect Violet’s Bowtique to celebrate her 4th birthday party with her favorite mouse. Sorry Mickey, she adores Minne. I love throwing a good birthday party and in this, I admit, I usually go over the top. We go Disney themed a lot here. I think everyone knows we rock our Disney Side pretty often. Remember Sophia’s Peter Pan and Pixie Hollow Party. My personal favorite might have been the candy party or the Ocean wonderland.
