About the Artist - MYANIMALART
http://myanimalart.com/about-the-artist
All art commissions are done by me, Amanda Moeckel. Hello! I've been doing animal portraits since 2001. While studying Fine Art at American University, I decided to paint a friend's dog for his birthday. MyAnimalArt.com was born soon after, and I've since completed over 400 portraits for private clients. I enjoy making art for animal lovers, and love nothing more than to make people cry happy tears. I recently received an MFA in Illustration from School of Visual Arts. Check out ConsiderAnimals.com.

I will arise and go now in watercolor, graphite and digital, 11 x 17. Thank you so much to the Jury. Hard work is starting to pay off, and it feels awesome. I had trouble picking myself up off the floor when the venerable David Wiesner. An amazing conference. I look forward to attending again next year. This painting be...

Being a Writer/Illustrator – duh VO jack

Posted on July 5, 2015. Listening to the illicit sounds of 5th of July fireworks. When I was a small, wee, slip of a lass, I went through a period where I made my mom draw for me. It wasn’t that I stopped drawing; she was just better than I was. Sometimes I made her draw the hands for my people. Sometimes it was the whole people. I have a memory of sitting behind her on the couch and watching her progress. To draw something or I. It’s a little funny that I’ve never automatically gone to pictu...Picture b...

Posted on June 23, 2015. This is actually a post about editing. It will all make sense later. There are certain segments of the population for whom word count is not a caution but a. I am one of those people. 90k is like a sneeze, man. The first time I tried NaNoWriMo, I finished in the first five days. The only year I didn’t win was when I just stopped. I used WriteOrDie. To see if I could write a thousand words in fifteen minutes. The answer is yes. (Just don’t ask about the typos.). Meant for publicat...
