The babblings of a cracked old fossil. Oh yes, having a clear-out crisis…. That’s where I left it last time. Friends and family to the rescue, going through my stuff, my life, making me choose whether to keep this or throw that or send to charity. And garages. Oh dear lord how much crap have I got in the garage? God it was hard going through all this stuff. And still there’s too much left to go through. “How many bikes do you need? We had a lot of stuff. I still had most of it. A whole lotta stuff! So we...

The babblings of a cracked old fossil. Video – crappy video. I don’t do video. Well, not since the incident with the home movie that got into the wrong hands and….anyway, I have a videocamcorder thingie but it’s all so much hassle. 8217;, just us having fun. Oh, and unfortunately my mate’s footage of me was low res so it’s really small. Thanks Geo. I’m the black speck in the tiny frame. Whereas mine, including footage of him, is full-screen.*. I’ve sorted that out on the Vimeo link now). 8211; that’...

The babblings of a cracked old fossil. I really need to sort out my photos, I have so many more on hard drives and here and there… anyway, here are a few recent photos. I rarely use my camera so most are iPhone shots while out and about, but the better ones are from Morocco mostly using a DSLR or pocket compact. I’ve just recently bought a new pocket compact with zoom so I’m playing around with that this winter. I particularly like texture as you may notice! Hope you enjoy them! Love cats by the seaside.

The babblings of a cracked old fossil. Category Archives: Wordy stuff. I don’t know. Should I do it? Don’t know that either, I’m always worrying about that. What if someone I don’t want to read it finds it? Like a prospective employer for instance? That’s unlikely at the moment as I seem equally unlikely to find and get a job. So what’s been going on? All sounds good so far, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here! So now I have to face my worst possible scenario. Moving. Selling up and moving ...Just ...

The babblings of a cracked old fossil. Monthly Archives: June 2015. Iron rich deposits seeped into the porous rock highlighting bedding planes causd by water action such as lapping on a bank or silt inflow. To me rocks are the bones of the earth. Everything else is temporary, but rock has a feeling of longevity about it, a connection to the earth that has a strong ‘grounding’ effect. Old selfie from Harrison’s rocks, a local sandstone crag. Iron rich springwater nearby – spot my bike in the corner! The r...

The babblings of a cracked old fossil. This entry was posted in Verse. January 20, 2016. When roaring flames have died away. And just the chars remain. Beneath the surface embers glow. That may ignite again. So while all seems but cold and dead. There’s life within the core. A shifting wind may be enough. To fan aflame once more. As all seems dead in winter’s grip. The cold and bitter sting. Beneath the surface lies new life. Just waiting for the spring. Thank you for reading. January 16, 2016. The photo...

The babblings of a cracked old fossil. Washed up on the beach. Broken, weathered and exposed to the elements. Isle of Wight last weekend, a perfect September day. But then I also found this:. That’s a dinosaur (iguanodontid) footprint, left in mud in what was then a sub tropical swampy river delta around 140m years ago. It was in-filled with more sediment, which turned to rock, and as the sea eroded the layers under the cliffs this natural cast fell out. This entry was posted in Pictures. We’d figu...

My nephews hanging out in the bus on a family picnic a couple of years ago. We were nowhere near the sea but my friend Cliff came up with this caption for the photo, which I thought was really funny. It might be from a film like Point Break or something, don’t know. Have a great weekend! This entry was posted in Pictures. July 31, 2015. July 25, 2015.
