Wednesday, January 27, 2010. The most dreaded sign when driving in California is the chain control sign. Cal Trans does an amazing job in keeping I-80 open all winter, but they require you to chain up for the smallest snowflake. The road will just be wet and they require chains. Leaving Truckee the carry chains sign was on, but no sign of Cal Trans yet. Maybe they are on a coffee break. The unlucky people that were stopped on I-80 eastbound that had to chain up. Thursday, June 16, 2011. The views on the Rim Trail are amazing! Bliks checking the view. It's going to be a long time before the trail is snow free. Warm enough to run in a skirt except for when I fell through the top layer of snow. Making dog snow angels. What a magical night. There was no one out on the trails. It was just me, my dog, and the wind. The sun went down and the full moon came up. It's an amazing experience just to sit on the side of a mountain in the dark. Love it! Bliks and the full moon.

Sunday, June 19, 2011. A taste of Heaven. I also managed a trip down to visit my dad. I can't believe how many fun places I keep finding in Foresthill that I haven't been before. I managed to squeeze in 4 rides in 4 days and still have time to go boating in the afternoon on Clementine Lake. It would have been even more fun to go boat camping. next time. Since the last post (which was way too long ago), I raced XTERRA REAL in Folsom, skipped XTERRA West Champs in Vegas, raced XTERRA South Central Champs in Waco, TX, and skipped ITU Worlds in Spain. I started to cry a little at work today because I had reached my capacity for asshats and apparently today was asshat day. Ugh. Stupid people. Yelling at me over the phone is not a good way to get me to kiss your ass. I think I want to go bowling. But mostly because I'm watching tv and they are bowling.
