A low budget movie with a documentary feel that follows the story of Mick Walsh who has finished school but is having trouble getting a job in 1980’s England. His friend signs on in the army and is stationed in Northern Ireland, but Mick’s father doesn’t want him to join. Ken Loach likes to get some soccer into his movies. And tagged ken loach movie.

There are some great classroom scenes where Truffaut really captures what it is like to be a child. In one a boy anxiously waits for the clock to signal the end of the school day so he won’t have to answer a question.
