ileava's letter from Japan: The rainy season around the corner
http://ileava.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-rainy-season-around-corner.html
Monday, May 25, 2015. The rainy season around the corner. May is about to end. I've been spitting these hydrangeas here and there. And that means in no time the rainy season is about to start. It's been a little over a year since we moved to this location in Harajuku. We've met so many people who loves jewelry and thank you for coming by and supporting us. Can't believe how quickly a year had gone by. Inside there are a few updates too and a lot more jewelry! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

ileava's letter from Japan: The Manmade Forest
http://ileava.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-manmade-forest.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Meiji Shrine is one of the many tourist spots and also a very popular shrine to visit. I have been learning so much more now that I pass by the Shrine everyday to get to the store, but there are so much I didn’t know about. Recently I learned that the all the trees around the Meiji Shrine in Harajuku was planted 100 years ago, as a plan to grow a forest. I watched a very interesting TV program about this and since then, changed how I look at the forest. View my complete profile.

ileava's letter from Japan: Summer eatings
http://ileava.blogspot.com/2015/07/summer-eatings.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. Ramen seems to be favorites among the Japanese and lately it seems it is popular in other parts of the world. What is exciting to me is that in the summer time there are the cold noodles that they would serve only in the summer times. This place close to our home has nice presentation. Well I just like it when they use ice to imply how "cold" the noodles are. And the slice of citrus fruit is a nice detail. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

ileava's letter from Japan: The Blues and pinks and green edamame
http://ileava.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-blues-and-pinks-and-green-edamame.html
Friday, June 12, 2015. The Blues and pinks and green edamame. Hydrangea are in full bloom, everywhere. You can see hydrangeas bloom almost at every corner in Tokyo. Seem to make the humid rainy season more enjoyable and something to look forward to. It was great to see the different colors along the long stretch. I wouldn't have known if I didn't drive at this time. Around this time I get inspired by the vibrant colors and choose clothes that are the shades close to the hydrangeas. Rest of ileava sites.

ileava's letter from Japan: July 2015
http://ileava.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. The other morning I saw a rainbow! It was special because it was one of those rare moments I didn't go back to sleep, even though it was before I was planning to wake up. It was 4:30 am. and when I looked outside the sun was coming up and decided to really look at the morning skies. It was hard to notice at first because the colors were very close to the clouds surrounding it. But there it was. Arc of colors. Hiyashi chuka is what they are usually called. Chines yellow noodles ...

ileava's letter from Japan: July 2013
http://ileava.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 10, 2013. I start to feel at home in a new area when I find a restaurant or a cafe that I like. So far in Tokyo there are few great places that I found. It is nice when the people who work there or own it know you, and when the food is also great it really makes you feel at home. When I' m there I often order my usual. A dessert/ drink with vodka and coffee jello and kahlua. The owner gave me an extra swirl of whip cream that day. Didn't quit fit in my photo. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Notes from the future: a few explanations...
http://amery-notesfromthefuture.blogspot.com/2011/10/few-explanations.html
Notes from the future. Sunday, October 2, 2011. People have been asking for clarification on a few things. One, what does Kia Ora mean? Here's the definition taken straight out of Wikipedia:. Is a Māori language. Which has entered New Zealand English. Many Kiwis start their emails with this greeting, and I love it because it's Polynesian and try to use it when I can. Two, "why is your blog called 'Notes from the future'? And, three, yes I have a phone line down here! October 5, 2011 at 11:17 AM.

Notes from the future: Trouble meets Basil.
http://amery-notesfromthefuture.blogspot.com/2012/07/i-need-hero-oh-wait-thats-me.html
Notes from the future. Saturday, July 14, 2012. I try and take Trouble on a walk without the other two dogs once a week. It doesn't always happen, but when I do I'm so glad for both our sakes. When all three are together, Trouble feeds off Spike's (the oldest) nervous energy and feels like he needs to protect Ruby, the smallest dog. This makes him a bit of a challenge to walk. So the other day, we're on our walk and this 10 year old boy comes up on his bike. "Have you seen a yellow lab running around?

Notes from the future: March 2012
http://amery-notesfromthefuture.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Notes from the future. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. A few weeks ago, Dave's parents were in town and we visited Queenstown on the South Island. Totally different from the lush North Island, the South Island is a little more rocky and dramatic. The air is crisper, the mountains higher and the fish? Let's just say they were biting. Even catch a fish! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Greenhithe, Auckland, New Zealand. Follow us on facebook. View my complete profile. Ethereal template. Powered by Blogger.

Notes from the future: Note to self: keep sunblock in the car!
http://amery-notesfromthefuture.blogspot.com/2012/02/note-to-self-keep-sunblock-in-car.html
Notes from the future. Thursday, February 9, 2012. Note to self: keep sunblock in the car! When we first moved to Auckland, NZ it was winter/spring. It was cold. Everyone said it was tropical in the summer and I couldn't figure out how this bone-chilling, rainy land would magically transform into a tropical paradise in a matter of months. I couldn't have been more wrong! I almost drove by and then thought. what's a 15 minute stop? Well, I still can't mediate worth beans. Sorry Third Eye, you are stil...
