My Travel Diary: Las Vegas to Springdale
http://my-travelingdiary.blogspot.com/2014/11/las-vegas-to-springdale.html
Saturday, November 29, 2014. Las Vegas to Springdale. Springdale, is a pretty small town right next to Zion National Park. There are a handful of hotels, restaurants and groceries stores catering to the tourists who visit the National Park. I liked this small town because of its proximity to the hills. We could see them right out of our hotel window! Location: Springdale, UT, USA. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Las Vegas to Springdale. Lake Mead and Hoover Dam.

My Travel Diary: Needles Highway and Wildlife Loop, Black Hills
http://my-travelingdiary.blogspot.com/2011/07/needles-highway-and-wildlife-loop-black.html
Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Needles Highway and Wildlife Loop, Black Hills. Watch out for Needle’s Eye formation along the route where one of the needles has a cavity –‘eye’ created over years of wind, water and ice. Is another spot worth stopping for along the drive. We were a bit hard pressed for time and had to miss the lake. The best time however is a bright sunny afternoon and if you’re lucky you might find the water still. My Travel Diary: Badlands National Park, South Dakota
http://my-travelingdiary.blogspot.com/2011/06/badlands-national-park-south-dakota.html
Thursday, June 9, 2011. Badlands National Park, South Dakota. Is one of those unique landscapes that still exists and date back to about 75 million years! We’re not talk about centuries but million years… Apparently as per geologists (mentioned in the. Information guide) the earth’s climate at that time was warmer than it is now and a shallow sea abundant with life covered the region we call the Great Plains -stretching from the Gulf of Mexico to. There are a lot of things that can be done at. From Wall,...

My Travel Diary: Chateau de Chillon
http://my-travelingdiary.blogspot.com/2009/03/chateau-de-chillon.html
Monday, May 19, 2008. The castle’s history was marked by three important periods:. The Savoy era [12th century to 1536],. The Bernese era [1536 – 1798],. The Vaudois era [1798 until today]. And each of these landlords has made modifications into the castle in terms of the architecture to suite their preferences. On the land side the castle is designed for defense, while on the lake side it’s for residence. All the rooms have a history of their own right from the Constable’s Dinning room to the Coat...

My Travel Diary: I can camp -Grand Marais
http://my-travelingdiary.blogspot.com/2015/03/i-can-camp-grand-marais.html
Saturday, March 28, 2015. I can camp -Grand Marais. After our partial success with the I-can-Camp! We were hungry for more. Partial I say because in the program not everything was done by us right from the beginning –like finding the right spot to setup our tent or lighting up the fire pit. We had some kind of guidance available at Sibley State Park. Grand Marais is a small town on the US side of Lake Superior’s north shore. Our getaway was planned for the first week of September [Labor Day wee...Except ...

My Travel Diary: Lake Superior and nearby places
http://my-travelingdiary.blogspot.com/2011/06/lake-superior-and-nearby-places.html
Sunday, June 6, 2010. Lake Superior and nearby places. A small beaten down path from the tower followed by a long narrow wooden structure took us to the shoreline. The light house appeared majestic from this point. We spent. For the benefit of the readers I’ve provide with a site where more info about what to see in Duluth can be obtained. My Travel Diary: Trek to Triund
http://my-travelingdiary.blogspot.com/2011/10/trek-to-triund.html
Monday, September 26, 2011. Having stayed in Dharamkot, Dharamashala for a day though was not enough to acclimatize me with 1800 meters of altitude (having arrived from zero MSL) but that was the most I could have afforded in the short vacation that I was able to squeeze out from my routine job. My lungs which were already pumping fresh air into the body wanted a break. Such was our rise and the pace that our first break came just after 30 minutes into the trek. An hour later I got my answer.

My Travel Diary: Lake Mead and Hoover Dam
http://my-travelingdiary.blogspot.com/2014/11/lake-mead-and-hoover-dam.html
Thursday, November 27, 2014. Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. Each year we plan to cover a few trails, see some part of this beautiful world of ours and create ever lasting memory. I guess sometimes it’s more to unwind from the daily grind and recharge ourselves. Last summer we zeroed in onto Zion National Park, Bryce National Park and maybe a short peek at Grand Canyon National Park. The nearest [ and cheapest. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
