New Mexican Accordion Players, Violinists from the Windy City and English Girls who play guitar. I was tempted to call it my All American Week – with two wonderful musicians from the states coming to Hamburg only within the short time span of two days. But then there was this little blond girl from Hampshire, England, who turned everything upside down…. Only 48 hours later, there was another long-awaited concert of me: Andrew Bird. Cat has been calling that concert by Andrew Bird and Laura Marling the gi...

Music & Coffee: The Rabbit and the City

The Rabbit and the City. I am having a hard time deciding what to write about our short but exciting trip to London. So maybe I am just doing a keyword-brainstorm sort of entry:. Glitter, Insanity, Decay: God’s Away On Business. A story this dark, so full of despair and human fault and failure – could anyone picture an appropriate soundtrack unless written by Tom Waits? His brute, dramatic and bitter songs that tell of the American underbelly turn Buechner’s Woyzeck into a bizarre satiric Broadway show. Glitter and dust fly through the air in a grotesque dance on the thin dividing line between slapstick and freak show, musical and realistic theatre. Posted by Annie Higgen.

On Becoming A Super-Hero. Wouldn’t that be too good to be true? Saving the world just like that. Not exactly in the “Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly”-tradition, but with almost the same simplicity? The world’s greenest search engine Ecosia. Promises that and nothing less. I, for my part, cannot resist the temptation of such a prospect. What makes the Berlin-based company even more likable: unlike search engines like Google, they do not save your search history or profile your usage of the side: within 48 hours ...

True Highlights Of Independent Songwriting – Part I. Today with the ingenious American folk musician Devendra Banhart. And his 2004 hymn “Electric Heart”:. Blp) shines for you. It's given up sparks. B ut that's nothing new. Spins its lightning web. Blm) lights the way ahead. I eat the biscuits, a gift for her. I eat the fishes, they got no fur. Oh God's final town. I'll take a little sip from its high drip. The earth hurts sky. Blp) say your name. The earth was dry until you came. Blp) combing in the snow.

Event-Konzertbesucher. Was machte ich hier? Posted by Annie Higgen. Zum Start der neuen Saison.

Posted by Annie Higgen. Was passiert mit jenem heiligen, reinen, Gott- bzw. Shakespeare-gegebenen Oxfort-Englisch wenn es stundenlangem „Can you dig it? Posted by Annie Higgen. Kennen lernte war ...
