Here red is the new black. We find it’s very in-keeping. With tradition and all that. Work days are pretty erratic. You’ll soon get used to that. The work is hot and back-breaking. But the rewards far outweigh that. The perks of the job are amazing. Extreme weight loss guaranteed. As good as an ‘on the job’ sauna.

Monday, 9 April 2012. This Easter Weekend was a weekend of 'firsts'. Firstly, I have written my first short story,. Secondly, it was a piece of flash fiction (under 150 words),. Thirdly it's subject was crime, and. Fourthly, I submitted it to a competition (which kind of defined the above in it's criteria). Having only written poetry so far, it was challenging to write not only fiction, but flash fiction under a 150 words and then it was a crime piece (which is a subject I have never tackled before).

Saturday, 28 April 2012. My first attempt at crime flash fiction! This was my first attempt at flash fiction, having only written poetry before it was good to try something new. It was also a crime piece which was fun to write. When writing it I didn't have a clue where it was going, who it involved or the outcome, it just came out. Which was another first, as I had never written anything in this way before. Hope you like it! Suddenly my head is yanked backward as the dagger touches my throat.

April 24, 2012. When I was a little girl, I was afraid of thunder storms. I guess I never did outgrow them. At one time I thought I did. I remember standing outside on a second story open air porch watching lightening streak across the sky. Mom also told us all that rolling thunder was God playing ten pin. A day in the life of the amjamfam. Sunday, January 25, 2015. What we do when James goes to Mexico. Was off in Mexico for a work trip. Which meant Owen and I were home alone with nothing to do. So we came up with some stuff. After dropping off James at the airport shuttle at 5:30 am we decided to get ready and head to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Owen loves his whipped cream! Later we decided to make some edible oatmeal play dough. And then he made a "snowman". We also took a trip to the bowling alley.
