Wayang Wong | Amy's Indonesian Summer
https://amyindonesia.wordpress.com/2011/06/30/wayang-wong
Amy's Indonesian Summer. My Summer Travels in Java. June 30, 2011. The group that I saw perform on that night of the festival was an excellent group. Their costumes were beautiful and their choreography was well-rehearsed. They even added a comedic interpretation to their performance of one of the famous fight scenes between two characters by adding a pet dog character that would just get in the way during the fight and do silly things like lick the opponent and accidentally tripping his master.
Kali Suci Cave Tubing! | Amy's Indonesian Summer

Amy's Indonesian Summer. My Summer Travels in Java. July 4, 2011. Kali Suci Cave Tubing! We unfortunately found out that a large group had just left before we got there to go through the caves and that apparently we were supposed to have made a reservation online for the tubing. Even after looking around on the internet for hours, I hadn’t found any kind of reservation site. I was starting to feel really bad about dragging my friends two-hours away from Yogya to the middle of the woods. Website for booki...

Amy's Indonesian Summer. My Summer Travels in Java. July 4, 2011. Trying Durian (and I liked it! The last item on my list of things I wanted to do during my time in Indonesia was to try the infamous fruit, Durian! The whole month I was here, though, most of my friends kept saying how awful it was and that I wasn’t allowed to try it around them! I never got the guts up to go buy a whole on by myself just for a taste. I took a piece of the fruit to try and in all honesty, it wasn’t bad at all. Th...You are...

Affandi Museum | Amy's Indonesian Summer
https://amyindonesia.wordpress.com/2011/06/30/affandi-museum
Amy's Indonesian Summer. My Summer Travels in Java. June 30, 2011. I went to a local art museum of the Indonesian artist, Affandi. It was a beautiful museum of his artwork which definitely has Van Gogh-esque characteristics in terms of the brush strokes and expressionistic interpretation of his subjects. I could not take pictures of the actual paintings unfortunately, but you can see some of them here and read more about Affandi:. Http:/ www.affandiartgallery.com/GarudaM.html. Bird of Paradise plant.

Living in the moment | Whatever has me laughing, thinking or praying…
Living in the moment. 2 Weeks- No Complaining; The Experiment. Complaining- an effective use of energy? As of today, the experiment is complete, and I’d have to say I learned quite a few things. First, the content. Complaints usually signal underlying thoughts of, “This isn’t fair,” “Things shouldn’t be this way,” or “Why me? 8221; After two weeks of (mostly) choosing not to voice those thoughts, it allowed me to see what other options I have for those feelings. Can I fix something? Most of my would-be c...
Amy In Datingland | Going down the rabbit hole of dating in Chicago
Going down the rabbit hole of dating in Chicago. Amy Walks Into A Bar. I figure a steakhouse is good place to find some man meat and real meat, so I choose to go to Morton’s Steakhouse. This place has happy hour specials, is on my walk home from work and in the Viagra Triangle (an area in the Gold Coast known for older men looking for younger ladies- not that that is my demographic, but I’m not going to start being too picky now). Three Men and a Single Lady. I wish by just saying “I’m going ...So the ea...

Mot de passe :. J'ai oublié mon mot de passe. You know people change. You know they do. I'm not the person you wanted me to be anymore. I found my way and I won't give up. I'll never give up. Because right now, things have sense. I won't put up with it : my dream is not a fantasy. I can reach it, I will. I know I'll succeed, someday. Lies, Lie, Liar? 9644;▬▬▬. Ne jamais regretter quoi que ce soit, c'est inutile et puis, il est déjà trop tard. You always see what your eyes want to see. Mise à jour :.

Amy's Indonesian Summer | My Summer Travels in Java
Amy's Indonesian Summer. My Summer Travels in Java. July 4, 2011. Cobra and Jazz – A Great Last Night in Yogyakarta! For my last night in Yogyakarta, I went with a group of friends from the home stay where I fist stayed to a restaurant called Kobra Imperial Kitchen. As implied by the name, the restaurant serves cobra, along with other interesting foods such as pigeon, frog, turtle, and sea cucumbers. We went for the cobra! We order 20 cobra satays and a dish of black-peppered cobra. It was delicious!
Amy's Adventures
The continuing adventures of a mild mannered choir teacher as she roams the world, teaching people to sing. Thursday, July 30, 2009. The End of An Era. Well, devoted blog readers, it is time to close this blog. Since I leave for Shanghai on Tuesday (insert scream here), somehow "Amyindubai" just doesn't work anymore. So, if you're wondering what on earth you will do without a regular (or irregular, depending on when I feel like blogging) Amyfix, fear not! Tuesday, July 07, 2009. The cottage was set inlan...
Amy in Education
Friday, October 14, 2016. Every Kid, Every Day. Every Kid, Every Day. As a campus, we place a large focus on the importance of relationships in education - “A student doesn’t care about what you are saying, until they know how much you care.” We have heard this statement many times. Morning Meetings are the perfect opportunity to check in with your students. Ask them how they are, what is important to them, how they feel. Show them how interested you are in their lives. That include ideas for K-5. At the...
Amy in Egypt
Assorted thoughts on daily life in Cairo and Chicago. Sunday, November 6, 2016. SPF moisturizers giant roundup. I decided to chronicle my experience with various SPF moisturizers, since I started using an SPF product almost daily around 2013 or so. There's so much to learn about them! It's actually so overwhelming. But a great distraction from current US politics! I used Aveeno "Active Naturals" Protect and Hydrate Sunscreen Lotion in two. Without any lost love. Aveeno does test on animals. Right now, my...
