Means “re-baptizer.” It is a label often assigned to a diverse group outside the mainstream of the Reformation that views baptism solely as an external witness to a believer’s conscious profession of faith. The group is mockingly called “Anabaptist” because of their rejection of infant baptism and the practice of believers’ baptism. Believer’s baptism is administered only to persons who have passed the age of accountability (the moment at which point children become responsible for their actions).
