AndrewFBaker DIY Publishing

160;Monday, August 10, 2009. So today must just be a post-y day for me with this blog. And while this post does not really have anything to do with self-publication or the parameters of the self-publishing class, it does have a bit to do with self-efficiency and the DIY mentality. Plus I'm just super excited about it. I received my Farm in a Box from Atlanta-based Earth Sol. The yield on the plants is three to six times the yield of soil gardening per square foot! I've currently got organic Thai Basil an...

AndrewFBaker DIY Publishing: Market, Yourself

http://andrewfbaker.blogspot.com/2009/08/market-yourself.html

160;Friday, August 7, 2009. Has this ever happened to you? You've completed your masterpiece. Carefully bound the pages. Suffered papercuts and Hello Kitty bandages courtesy of your local Kinkos. Made sure your shipped a copy off to your Mom/Dad/Significant Other (or several copies if you are not from the south). And then sat back and watched with an ever-fading bliss as your hard work begins to collect dust. Well, no more! Afterall, the goal is to make. A little, right? Not throw it all to the wind.

AndrewFBaker DIY Publishing: Comments for the others...

http://andrewfbaker.blogspot.com/2009/08/comments-for-others.html

Comments for the others. 160;Monday, August 10, 2009. So, I don't know if it's my computer or my browser or what, but apparently, I can not post a comment to anyone's blog if the comment box is embedded in the page. Pop-up comment boxes are fine. And Ian's blog, though embedded, is not a blogger blog, so it worked just dandy as well. At any rate, here are the comments to the other articles. Actually, to the vast majority of the articles. It is a really beautiful piece and so informative on so many levels.

AndrewFBaker DIY Publishing: Shelta

http://andrewfbaker.blogspot.com/2009/08/shelta.html

160;Monday, August 3, 2009. For this limited edition (only 5 made! Short story, I wanted to produce a printed document that had the look and feel of something both sacred and mundane, cared for and discarded. Utilizing fabric, tin-styled ceiling tiles, and a hand stitched binding, "Shelta" looks as if it could be a journal - which correlates to the writing within the piece itself - manufactured to be hidden amongst the remnants of the family involved. AndrewFBaker DIY Publishing: My novel is now in bookstores

http://andrewfbaker.blogspot.com/2009/08/my-novel-is-now-in-bookstores.html

My novel is now in bookstores. 160;Monday, August 3, 2009. Well, sort of. It's in online bookstores at any rate! Has found its way to Amazon. And Barnes and Noble. I've also created a Facebook page. For it as a means of trying to get the word out. Become a fan on Facebook. Order it from B&N or Amazon. Tell your friends to do the same! Excerpts from the novel are available at the web page for Hymn. And on the Facebook page. Help spread the word! Posted by andrew forrest baker. Comments for the others.

AndrewFBaker DIY Publishing: Play it again, Sam

http://andrewfbaker.blogspot.com/2009/07/play-it-again-sam.html

Play it again, Sam. 160;Monday, July 27, 2009. I had some spare time this weekend between work and obsessively checking Facebook status updates to procrastinate from working on my novel even more by creating another Lulu book. I had been wanting to check out the new minibooks they have been advertising like mad, and I haven't personally done any full-color printing through them. So it is definitely a bit of an experiment for me. In the meantime, here is a link to the thing on Lulu. Apparently, I can't se...

DIY Publishing for Writers & Others: Final projects

http://diypublishingatsaic.blogspot.com/2011/04/final-projects.html

DIY Publishing for Writers and Others. Thursday, April 28, 2011. Everyone posted proposals for their final project, due in just two weeks on May 13th. I especially enjoyed the proposals that included research and inspiration. they gave me a pretty convincing idea of what the projects will be about / look like. Its also exciting to think about these projects existing in the context of other writers, artists, and places. Kelsey K's letterpressed project. Kelsey G's woven treasures. Also it was so time-cons...

Andrew F Bell | Engineering, running, and the occasional adventure.

Engineering, running, and the occasional adventure. Hi, my name is Drew, and I’m a mechanical design engineer at Garmin where I design wearables and related products on the fitness team. Growing up, my siblings and I built contraptions in the back yard to ramp bikes, shoot bottle rockets, and generally create mayhem in the neighborhood. Since people actually pay for building things in the real world, I chose to study engineering in college. Having working in startups, automotive manufacturing, and consum...
