The World of a Kevin. Exploring Idaho and Beyond. Wild Edibles: Dandelion Tea. August 1, 2014. Some other ways Kevin loves to make this tea:. 1) Add a few berries you found on the trail to the pot for brewing. Smash them to get that sweet juice and strain any seeds. Blackberries dandelions = Amazingness. Plus, it’ll impress your trail partner, or do this in private to avoid being judged as a tea-hipster. 3) Want more sweet nectar? Just add more dandelion heads. The World of a Kevin. Exploring Idaho and Beyond. Canyonlands National Park: Alcove Spring Half-Hike. May 31, 2014. When we reached the bottom floor, we were given a 180 degree of gorgeous land forms. We hiked along the trail while the clouds built-up overheard and the sun sank below the canyon walls. We found a place to set a tent away from the trail and admired the scenery. We woke early to watch the sunrise in the valley floor. Bruneau Sand Dunes State Park. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The World of a Kevin. Exploring Idaho and Beyond. Rocky Bar Ghost Town Idaho. July 21, 2014. Many small homes were built by Chinese workers along the nearby rivers, but their remnants are gone or fenced off. Now the once thriving Rocky Bar is home to only 4 people, or so the sign says along with “Caution: Cat’s, dog’s, kid’s, and Old people with guns! 8221; “Take only pictures, Leave only footprints”. A story I found here. But it is worth the stop to explore these abandoned ruins yourself. You are commen...

The World of a Kevin. Exploring Idaho and Beyond. Atlanta Idaho: Cabins and Locals. July 19, 2014. Arriving in Atlanta Idaho is like discovering a lost town from the early 1900’s complete with old wooden cabins, lodges, and shops. As I drove through, the town was surprising alive and active. People outside worked on their small homes, in their gardens, and sat outside of the The Beaver Lodge. And I about Peg Leg Annie outside of the jailhouse. We stayed at the Atlanta Cabin. The World of a Kevin. Exploring Idaho and Beyond. Bruneau Sand Dunes State Park. May 27, 2014. I left Boise at 5pm, arrived at Bruneau at 6:30, and seeing that the dunes would be more of a challenge than expected, I decided to forgo the advertised 6-mile hike that goes across open terrain that you can drive near (OFFICIAL PARK MAP. And make my own trail that circled, from the observatory, the dunes and small lakes. In North America with a peak rising 470 feet above the surrounding desert floor”? Canyonla...

North Fork of the Boise River | The World of a Kevin
https://kevinjacobkelley.wordpress.com/2013/09/11/north-fork-of-the-boise-river
The World of a Kevin. Exploring Idaho and Beyond. North Fork of the Boise River. September 11, 2013. Outside of Idaho City, this trail meanders along the clear Boise River with very little elevation gain between rock cliffs. This is an easy stroll with an occasional large pile-of-rocks that requires careful stepping, and some thick bushes. Length: 3.0 miles out-and-back. There are no real camping spots until you hike past the 3 miles, so if you prepare to stay overnight, be warned. Enter your comment here.
