Marbled Banana Bread | Post Punk Kitchen | Vegan Baking & Vegan Cooking
http://www.theppk.com/2011/11/marbled-banana-bread
November 3, 2011. I was sooo totally kidding when I tweeted that I was working on a book called “Vegan Loafs Gone Wild”, and yet here I am with another lower-fat loaf. I don’t know, something about the ease of the loaf pan, the leisurely cooking time, and just the absolute. Here we’ve got something that reminds me of pressing my face against the glass dessert case at my neighborhood Jewish bakery. Marbled treats were a childhood fascination and they still hold some of that How did you do that? Mash the b...

To (Be a) Baha'i or Not to (Be a) Baha'i: Season of the Magical Child
http://tobahaiornottobahai.blogspot.com/2008/12/season-of-magical-child.html
To (Be a) Baha'i or Not to (Be a) Baha'i. Hmm, now that's a good question. Sunday, December 28, 2008. Season of the Magical Child. I don't see that I'll ever stop celebrating winter holidays no matter if I declare or not.it would mean not participating in my family gatherings and even though we're secular.we have traditions. However. Children of God. How could you abuse or treat another unkindly if you truly view that person as a child of God? Imagine a world where every child is thought to be a savior&#...

To (Be a) Baha'i or Not to (Be a) Baha'i: Follow-Up
http://tobahaiornottobahai.blogspot.com/2008/12/follow-up.html
To (Be a) Baha'i or Not to (Be a) Baha'i. Hmm, now that's a good question. Thursday, December 11, 2008. OK, so now I know ambergris, rose, hyacinth and musk are mentioned in Baha'i writings.and I'm sure we'll find more mention of fragrance as I explore. Of course, these mentions are usually when comparing the love of God as sweeter than any fragrance, but one can't help but think that when Baha'u'llah was writing/speaking the message that he used scents as comparisons. So one could assume. O God, my God!

The Quest for Certitude: May 2011
http://spiritualgleanings.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
The Quest for Certitude. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Atheism - a religion or not? We often hear it said that atheism is itself a religion. This past weekend, T mentioned that he had a friend, whose response to this claim is that " Atheism is a religion in the same way that non stamp collecting is a hobby. Thursday, May 19, 2011. Integrating spirituality into our daily lives. Recently, T asked an excellent question when we were with V - how does one integrate spirituality into one's daily life? There are sever...

To (Be a) Baha'i or Not to (Be a) Baha'i: Refresh And Gladden My Spirit

To (Be a) Baha'i or Not to (Be a) Baha'i. Hmm, now that's a good question. Monday, November 24, 2008. Refresh And Gladden My Spirit. Artwork courtesy of Gary E. Stewart. I have so much to share of what I've discovered about the Baha'i Faith that I barely know where to begin or even when. To begin since I'm kind of busy preparing for what should be a busy time of year in the studio. I do want to write this quick post about how the Baha'i Faith doesn't have any food mandates or rules about food. I'm not se...

To (Be a) Baha'i or Not to (Be a) Baha'i: The First Step, Start From Where You Are...
http://tobahaiornottobahai.blogspot.com/2008/11/first-stepstart-from-where-you-are.html
To (Be a) Baha'i or Not to (Be a) Baha'i. Hmm, now that's a good question. Sunday, November 23, 2008. The First Step, Start From Where You Are. This is a journal of my exploration of The Baha'i faith. I’m still investigating. I've always been spiritual and even perhaps sort of New Agey. Until recently, I enjoyed my own spiritual practice drawing from many religions, but was never interested in declaring myself a member of any one faith. It’s odd, this is less about my faith in God (though I usually...

The Quest for Certitude: Oneness of humanity vs oneness of religion
http://spiritualgleanings.blogspot.com/2011/05/oneness-of-humanity-vs-oneness-of.html
The Quest for Certitude. Saturday, May 14, 2011. Oneness of humanity vs oneness of religion. One of the things I've been thinking about this week is related to a quote that I included as part of the series on the oneness of religion. The quote I'm referring to is one that talks about how society, in the last 100 years or so, seems to have far more readily accepted the notion of the oneness of mankind than the oneness of religion. I've pasted the quote below here for your reference:. When considering the ...

Marriage, as defined by the Baha’i Faith | Investigated
https://investigated.wordpress.com/2009/01/11/marriage-as-defined-by-the-bahai-faith
Didn’t I meet you at a conference or something? Marriage, as defined by the Baha’i Faith. January 11, 2009. In the interest of keeping this blog grounded in the Baha’i Writings, we’d like to share with you the following, in which Abdul-Baha discusses the nature of Baha’i marriage. We chose this quotation because, to us, it is a good starting place to begin defining and understanding marriage as it is explained in the Baha’i Faith. It elevates the station of marriage to that of eternal life,. Given Baha&#...
