The Compound Word Project: November 2012
http://compoundwordproject.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
The Compound Word Project. Monday, November 19, 2012. Round one - the answers. So, the post you've been waiting for - it's Monday evening and here are the answers:. I think everybody got this one correct. Just a starter to ease you into the game. This one caused a few more problems. Incorrect, but plausible answers included polycotton (which I thought was very inspired). A few guesses of spotless for this one, which I totally see the logic behind. Almost all guessed correctly. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

The Compound Word Project: April 2013
http://compoundwordproject.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
The Compound Word Project. Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Round two - the answers. Time for the head scratching to end - here are the answers for round two. Lots of people told me they found this round trickier than the last. I think, perhaps the photographers were a touch more oblique than the last round and there were a couple of diptychs which were clearly harder to solve than others. I allowed beachcombing and beachcomber too). A fairly straightforward one, which almost everybody got right - wavy hair.

Sometimes Up a Mountain in Andalucia and sometimes Down by the Sea on the English South Coast. The Vegetable Patch – El Huerto. In Spain, Portugal and South America generally refers to meat that has been grilled over an open flame. Often it has also been marinated in something, in Andalucía it’s typically a spice mix used to make Pinchitos Morunos (Moorish Kebabs) little skewers of meat, usually pork. They’re typical fiesta food and very popular. 1 tsp sea salt. 1 tsp ground cumin. 1 tsp ground coriander.

Sometimes Up a Mountain in Andalucia and sometimes Down by the Sea on the English South Coast. The Vegetable Patch – El Huerto. A return to the simple life. We’ve eaten chicken (reared by a pal who gifted us two hefty chicken thighs and drumsticks) cooked in one of our cazuelas with peppers, onions, garlic, olive oil and wine. And rabbit, marinated in a paste made of thyme and rosemary from the garden with our own olive oil and lemon and a neighbour’s garlic then cooked on the barbecue. The chef mimi blog.

A colourful life: June 2015

Monday, 29 June 2015. Anyway, I really wanted to write about my latest sewing adventure. I bought a really nice jersey fabric for a summer dress. I have never sewn with knit fabrics and was a little apprehensive. To practice, I bought some cheap bright green light weight t-shirt jersey to have a go and maybe even end up with something wearable. I used a tried and trusted pattern, the Sailor Top by Fancy Tiger Crafts. Which I have used before here. But a little less natural. To sum my experience with jerse...

Sunday, 26 July 2015. A psychedelic summer dress. I finished my psychedelic summer dress before we went on holiday and chances are that I am wearing it as you read this. Scheduling is great! I am now enjoying the hot sun in Cornwall. Or I might be huddled up in the caravan, woolly socks and all. The guess is yours. I found the pattern via the Curvy Sewing Collective. Where curvy women review a great many patterns. The pattern is The Lady Skater Dress. Here is the top stitched neckband on the outside.
