I keep reminding myself that not every drawing or painting is going to be a work of art, that paintings don't spring fully formed into your mind and that art is an ongoing process. This process includes many stops, starts, detours and "do overs". It can be frustrating and discouraging. But when you finish a picture that you know is good, it's worth it.
