Final day in D.C. Well, the sad news is that today is the final day in Washington, D.C. for Mr. Sammons and me. The GOOD news is that I will soon get to be back with my buddy, Eli and his classmates! I can't wait to share my stories with you all! On our final day, we began at the home of the first President of our country. Do you know who that is? If you said George Washington, you were right! His home and all the buildings and land with it, is known as Mount Vernon. I especially enjoyed the orchids.

Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. Pilgrims and Wampanoag (a group of native Americans) started Thanksgiving in 1621. They met in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1620. They grow crops and decided to have a feast. They gave thanks and food to each other. Today people watch Thanksgiving parades, football games, do crafts, and have a lot of fun.
