Ongoing scribblings of a (perpetually) novice flyer. How to Learn to Fly…. Flyer Forum Christmas Fly-In Leicester. Ok, so the likelihood of the weather being good for all is slim, but we ought to give it a go, shouldn’t we? It might be a glorious day…. The event will be on 13th December and it will be at Leicester Airfield…. 8230;said the forum post…. But it’d be fun, loads of mates and forumites I don’t see that often would be there. https://leiafee.wordpress.com/2014/09/04/laa-rally-2014
Ongoing scribblings of a (perpetually) novice flyer. How to Learn to Fly…. It was a bit of a last minute decision to go to the LAA Rally this year. It always seems to coincide with the Shoreham Airshow and I’d been toying with the idea of trying to get down there and see the two Lancasters together until one of them swallowed a cog anyway! So I decided to drop in on a friend, Dave and his TriPacer at Oaksey. I’d spent some time in company with another friend John trying to get the radio back workin...

Ongoing scribblings of a (perpetually) novice flyer. How to Learn to Fly…. How to Learn to Fly…. Well, sort of anyway. While training I found that discussing it on various forums and keeping the diary helped me think and put into words a bit better some of the things that helped and hindered, and thought it may be useful to write some of them down in a slightly more structured form. The “HowTo” of learning to fly. To Fly An Aeroplane.”. Learning to Fly: How To. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. For everything ...
January flying | Leia Airborne

Ongoing scribblings of a (perpetually) novice flyer. How to Learn to Fly…. Too windy to fly today on the 1st of Feb – the washing line is flapping vigorously that my dripping towels are beating against the kitchen window! So a good time to update on the blog front. Only two flights this month (this year! The first on a much awaited perfect winter day, clear and still with the visibility to see snow capped Pen-y-Fan within minutes of taking off. The sun had brought everyone out and after a long slow warmu...

Ongoing scribblings of a (perpetually) novice flyer. How to Learn to Fly…. How behind myself am I with writing this up? A long way. But mostly because I’ve been flying and flying. So this isn’t a trip report as such but a mega quick round up. Since posting last I have…. Got bounced all over the Welsh coast on the way to the newly reopened Llanbedr. Been too heavy fisted with our fuel bulb and burst the pressure gauge resulting in a dial fuel of fuel and a puddle on the pod floor. 7 July, 2014. Pretty muc...

Ongoing scribblings of a (perpetually) novice flyer. How to Learn to Fly…. I started keeping an online diary (before I knew of blogs! Of my PPL training partly because I wanted to be able to remember, when I’m all licensed up and flying, how hard I worked to get there and how good it felt, and partly as a revision aid–writing down what I remembered from each lesson while it was still fresh in my mind. Here’s what was on that old site! Ab Initio 01 “Preflight”. Ab Initio 02 “Taster”. Ab Initio 23: “...

Ongoing scribblings of a (perpetually) novice flyer. How to Learn to Fly…. Engine back on and (mostly) working! It’s been weeks! I’ve been spoiled rotten by better access to flying this past summer than I’ve ever had that winter has come as a shock to the system! With the end of September, and the last event (a birthday! I would have nipped back up to test it properly except that at the very moment I suggested it there was a most almighty clap of thunder. Actually maybe I’ll just put it away now! Fill in...

Sure, you might be far behind where you want to be, or even where you were yesterday; but what is the general trend of your progress? To expect of ourselves to be generally. The wife wh...
