Canyon Lake Phosphorus Management Program. Updates on The Alum Treatment Project for Canyon Lake from Aquatechnex. April 11, 2015. Aquatechnex has completed the spring Alum treatment to the East Arm of the lake as of yesterday afternoon. The team has demobilized from the lake. Alum is applied to the surface of the lake and as the floc settles through the water column it will grab the free reactive phosphorus present. The Aluminum Sulfate treatment that was scheduled for the first week in March has been delayed by the agency because of cold water temperatures and high algae counts in the main lake.
