Mizu Designs: April 2014

http://mizudesigns.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, 5 April 2014. Studio practice, performativity and the public gaze. Truth be told there has been some. Printmaking happening around here recently, but not a whole lot. I finally got to the studio last weekend to print some new drypoint etchings. But I'm not overly happy with the results (I messed up quite a few in my hurried attempt to do a lot in a short time) so will take a slightly different approach and print again from the same plates soon. Robert Goetz: mini round-up

http://robertgoetz.blogspot.com/2011/01/mini-round-up.html

Art: thot and ak'shen. Thursday, January 27, 2011. The end of the fall semester 2010 brought an opportunity to place my work in a faculty exhibition. i treated the show as an experiment in staging works that employ strategies in music/sound and art. some of the work is new and some was made within the last two years. The foreground sculpture is a song fragment. This work is called guitar circle. I like thinking of it as a guitar drawing with a nod to guitar player/singer songwriters in the title. Cara me...

The Enthusiast: thinking about things. Musings, ponderings, noticings, appreciatings. Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Art in Print (Issue 5) Review: Richard Deacon at Paragon Press. The plates have been subtly rotated and layered, forcing depth in the diamond-shapes where color overlaps—the metallic ink forces you to move around the prints, to look from many angles, to consider them spatially, and it is this bodily effect that returns Deacon’s line to sculpture. Vol 1, no. 5. Labels: Art in Print.
