A miniatures games blog about Warhammer 40k, 15mm American Civil War (ACW), D&D, Classic Battletech, painting, terrain and anything else that rolls or shoots. Friday, December 31, 2010. Rogue Trader - A Look Back. To swerve kicks into the top corner, I'm probably thinking about little plastic men. It's a curse. While sitting bumper-to-bumper on the parkway doing just this, I decided to take a look back at the grand daddy of the modern monster that is Warhammer 40k. I present to you, Rogue Trader! If the ...

When You Can't Be Nerding. (A Top 5 List). With her friend, thus leaving the house empty for a solid three hours. "Perfect! I thought, "This will give me time to finish up that Catachan squad for the battle next week and be done in time for the football game! Or so I thought. 1) Read the Rules. 2) Start a Blog. On the s...

umbrella graveyard: 01/11/12 - 01/12/12
http://umbrellagraveyard.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
A waste of my time and everyone elses. Tuesday, 27 November 2012. And oh, the sweetness of the air. It would be a shame to travel all the way to a country where they have regular V8 races and to not watch some V8 races; so last weekend I went to watch some V8 races. On Saturday night I went to Woodford Glen Speedway to watch dirt track death racing with post apocalypse deathtrap cars of death. I also finished painting some toys this week; a Big Mek with a kustum force field. The painboy is great for maki...

The Little Wars: The Waiting Game
http://thelittlewars.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-waiting-game.html
A miniatures games blog about Warhammer 40k, 15mm American Civil War (ACW), D&D, Classic Battletech, painting, terrain and anything else that rolls or shoots. Tuesday, August 6, 2013. The funny part is, I'm not totally sure that I mind this. At the beginning of this venture I knew that I would need miniatures, and lots of them. Due to the fact that I don't personally know anybody who is as yet involved with this particular field of nerd-dom, I figured I would initially have to coax opponents to the t...

umbrella graveyard: i'm taking the avenir to hobbiton
http://umbrellagraveyard.blogspot.com/2012/12/im-taking-avenir-to-hobbiton.html
A waste of my time and everyone elses. Tuesday, 4 December 2012. I'm taking the avenir to hobbiton. Before this could happen, I had to get here; and that meant finding out all about how standby tickets work, because that is what work booked for me. What happens is you get a ticket for the 1855 flight out of Christchurch; but it's totally sold out, so the only way you're getting on that plane is if you challenge one of the other passengers to MORTAL KOMBAT and totally Liu Kang. And so is the one after that.

A waste of my time and everyone elses. Sunday, 25 November 2012. Last weekend we went to have a vague poke at the national park named after Abel Tasman. It is called Abel Tasman National Park. Why the fuck are you whistling? Paddle, damn you! In spite of being trapped on what would be most diplomatically described as a "cosy" boat with a load of other people and a desperately short supply of booze, it was actually quite bearable. Sinister foreign confectionery this week took the form of a Chokito. View m...

The Little Wars: October 2010

A miniatures games blog about Warhammer 40k, 15mm American Civil War (ACW), D&D, Classic Battletech, painting, terrain and anything else that rolls or shoots. Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Another dumb short picture post. Since I've never posted any actual painted minis of mine, here's a Bushwacker in progress:. A Little Piece of History. No sooner had my fingers touched the Codex: Space Marines when I was heckled by a young punk playing in the Magic tournament being held at the store (ironic, huh? Wayyyy...
