Sally Chupick : Stumped and Art in the Barn
http://sallychupick.blogspot.com/2015/07/stumped-and-art-in-barn.html
Friday, July 10, 2015. Stumped and Art in the Barn. I have this painting in progress waiting in my studio. I began it with great enthusiasm working from a photo resource I had of a French flower market. Soon the painting became very strong in value, much darker mood than I had initially wanted; it didn't have the light airy feeling I yearned for, the way the subject made me feel. How does one paint a feeling? I like in it.ha ha ha.any ideas? I mean it's been almost a month! Labels: Art in the Barn. I har...

Sally Chupick : Peony Pair
http://sallychupick.blogspot.com/2015/05/peony-pair.html
Thursday, May 7, 2015. Peony Pair - oil on wood - 5x5 inch each. I was simply gobsmacked at the flower markets in France. Peonies piled high on top of one another, their tight rounded heads waiting for a tiny bit of warmth and sunlight to unfold. I was amazed at how many. Do they really sell this many cut flowers? Peonies at the market in St. Germaine en Lays. I'm sorry' and 'Just because'. Peonies are so classic, so timeless. Labels: oil painting Peonies. May 8, 2015 at 11:45 AM. May 12, 2015 at 8:50 AM.

Friday, August 7, 2015. Home again and painting, jiggety jig. On the other wall of my studio hangs a new 24x18" abstract painting. I've titled it Solar. Because that's what was on my mind while I was working on it. Near the window you can see another, smaller work in progress, it's a flower market painting that I glazed and added dark background shapes to. I will be adding a few details and accents to it after it's fully dry. Fisherman's Wharf, Victoria, BC. Labels: Sally chupick oil painting. Love all y...

Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Art theft and scams. Work in progress - oil on wood. Today I found out about a website that steals art images from galleries and artists blogs and websites and offers them for sale as posters. Even found several of my. Painting images on there. Very aggravating, and must be illegal, but it's a reality in this age of the world wide web. Lots of lurkers out to make a buck any way they can. What can artists do? I finally clued in! Ask Holly, it really BUGGED me. I was pretty co...

http://sallychupick.blogspot.com/2015/07/july-morning.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. My garden is thriving despite my neglect. Yesterday I cut my first Mr. Lincoln rose bloom for the table, a gigantic scarlet red bloom at least 5 inches across! Two of my rose plants have been decimated by some sort of insect, but 4 of them are still thriving away. Sally Chupick : Working on my own little 'Eden'
http://sallychupick.blogspot.com/2015/05/working-on-my-own-little-eden.html
Saturday, May 16, 2015. Working on my own little 'Eden'. Working on my own little Eden". This is a previous newsletter I sent out from my website in January, and thought it might be fun to post it again to my blog. Even though the paintings are a re-post, the thoughts about 'age' are the same. I'm pretty sure I will. Being an artist is a way of life, as much as it is a career. It's not like studying to get a degree, working and then retiring. With painting the studying is. Painters who lived long. And th...
