The Artsy Crafty Pinoy: September 2009
http://artsycraftynoypi.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
The Artsy Crafty Pinoy. Home, lifestyle, arts, and crafts from the creative Filipino. Thursday, September 10, 2009. It's been very rainy for almost a week that one couldn't help but stay indoors and try do something productive or creative. I've been wanting to use my sewing machine but I do not have extra money to buy materials so I guess I was compelled to think about recycling. 1 Take the measurements: get the appropriate length and width of your pillow to be transferred to the old shirt. The getaway w...
The Artsy Crafty Pinoy: Dapitan is THE Destination!

The Artsy Crafty Pinoy. Home, lifestyle, arts, and crafts from the creative Filipino. Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Dapitan is THE Destination! Photos courtesy of waypoints.ph. I have been so frustrated since last night when something just went wrong with my cellphone I couldn't transfer the pictures from my recent "room facelift" project. I was supposed to write three articles (with photos - many photos! Photos courtesy of visitpinas.com. The Artsy Crafty Pinoy. October 18, 2009 at 7:07 PM. Heart Handmade - ...

The Artsy Crafty Pinoy. Home, lifestyle, arts, and crafts from the creative Filipino. Monday, July 20, 2009. How Not to Mess Up a Fabric Stenciling Project. 1 Materials - fabric, scissors, cutter, sponge/paintbrush, paper/cardboard, pencil. Lesson learned: It's best to use sticker paper or cardboard that's quite thick for the stencil pattern. Otherwise the pattern easily gets worn out because of the wet paint. Lesson learned: Intricate designs are ok but they make cutting an agony. The Artsy Crafty Pinoy.
The Artsy Crafty Pinoy: Bubble Mania in Laguna
http://artsycraftynoypi.blogspot.com/2009/09/bubble-mania-in-laguna.html
The Artsy Crafty Pinoy. Home, lifestyle, arts, and crafts from the creative Filipino. Saturday, September 5, 2009. Bubble Mania in Laguna. Nothing beats a weekend getaway out of Manila. I was so glad that my friends and I went ahead for a nearly-canceled 2-day vacation in Laguna at my landlady's "hacienda" =) Thanks to Anne who loaned me the fare as I was so destitute at that time, the main reason I was hesitant to join the trip. Bubbles. gosh. they're just Magical. The Artsy Crafty Pinoy. Third world's ...
The Artsy Crafty Pinoy: Ship in a Bottle!
http://artsycraftynoypi.blogspot.com/2009/07/ship-in-bottle.html
The Artsy Crafty Pinoy. Home, lifestyle, arts, and crafts from the creative Filipino. Saturday, July 4, 2009. Ship in a Bottle! One of my earliest fascinations with handiwork include ships-in-bottles being offered by merchants who go around town selling "door-to-door". They sell their merchandise by going from one household to another. Every kid (and even adults) would say "How did it get in there? In truth, according to David S. Smith in his article How the Ship Gets in the Bottle. The work is extremely...

Musical Mania | third world traveler
https://kwenivarga.wordpress.com/2010/08/20/musical-mania
Imagination's all it takes. I was so sad that the musical Cats had already finished its run here in Manila and I didn’t get to see it. It was doubly exciting because our very own Lea Salonga was playing Griselda. Lea, who won a Tony Award for her part in Miss Saigon, is very much loved and adored in the Philippines. She is also very popular in the world of broadway because of her exceptional talent. Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Mamma Mia! Miss Saigon, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita,.
Divine Destination | third world traveler
https://kwenivarga.wordpress.com/2010/08/20/divine-destination
Imagination's all it takes. Growing up in a coastal town, I do have this strong connection with the sea. Whenever I see pictures of breathtaking blue waters and inviting coastlines, it certainly feels like home. I can almost instantly hear and feel the breeze and even taste the salty air. And boy, do I love singing! Which is why Mama Mia is among my most favourite films. I must admit there’s still a lot of places that I have yet to explore in my own country. However, it has also been a dream of mine ...
Mystery and the City | third world traveler
https://kwenivarga.wordpress.com/2010/08/20/mystery-and-the-city
Imagination's all it takes. Mystery and the City. I’ ve been a follower of vampire stories long before the recent widespread ‘exploitation’ of the genre in film and TV. My favourite American vampire stories authors Anne Rice and Charlaine Harris have chosen Louisiana as the epicentre of their novels. My obsession with their work resulted to an interest with Louisiana, most especially New Orleans. Apart from the vampire stories, the city is known for its Voodoo queens, witches and witch doctors, and its e...
A Bridge in the Clouds | third world traveler
https://kwenivarga.wordpress.com/2010/07/20/a-bridge-in-the-clouds
Imagination's all it takes. A Bridge in the Clouds. I watched X-Men: The Last Stand for the nth time yesterday and was still amazed by the scene where Magneto single-handedly uprooted and bent the Golden Gate Bridge. Of course it wasn’t the first time the bridge was destroyed on film or TV. Being San Franciso’s top landmark, we’ve seen it ravaged by human or natural forces several times, mostly in armageddon-themed shows. Travel packages never exaggerate when they say that the city can take your breath a...
Edinburgh’s Secrets | third world traveler
https://kwenivarga.wordpress.com/2010/07/20/edinburghs-secrets
Imagination's all it takes. Everybody loves a good story. I, for one, am a fan of different sorts of stories. I would indulge in an exciting fiction but nothing beats real events. I have a very soft spot for juicy, incredible, and even scandalous accounts from history. One story I couldn’t forget was a feature from History Channel about the secret underworld of Edinburgh. It explores the story and places that provided Robert Louis Stevenson with inspiration for his classic work. Of course, nowadays Edinb...
Frontier’s Farewell | third world traveler
https://kwenivarga.wordpress.com/2010/07/20/frontiers-farewell
Imagination's all it takes. I was able to watch how The New Frontier was torn down in 2007 on a National Geographic feature titled Blowdown: Vegas Casino . It shows how the demolition crew strategically and carefully planned the implosion, giving utmost importance to the strategic placement of explosive material and ultimately, the timing of detonation. It ensures that the building crumbles on itself within a few seconds thus greatly reducing damage to its surroundings. By kwenivarga on July 20, 2010.

Mommy on a crafty mission…. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Because I was there 2. February 22, 2016. I started our chore ticket system. Our system is based on working for every Rand, no free hand outs. You have a daily chore ticket which has basic chores which amounts to R10 a week for my almost 6yr old and R5 for my almost 3 yr old. Then over the weekend they can make extra money if they help me out without me asking. Like sweeping, dusting, help do laundry etc. December 15, 2015.
