Why is ASIST necessary? Autism is a neurological disorder that affects one in 150 New Zealand children. It can range across a spectrum from mild to severe, but it usually affects a child’s ability to interact and communicate. Many autistic children do not speak, most suffer high levels of anxiety and aloneness, and almost all lack the social skills that many of us take for granted. These children are usually unable to learn conventionally and, without help, fall further and further behind their peers.

Why is ASIST necessary? Why is ASIST necessary? Many western countries provide public funding for ABA therapy, but New Zealand parents who wish to help their children must cover its substantial costs themselves. These costs usually run into tens of thousands of dollars during the childhood of just one young person with autism. Any donation will help ASIST to make a significant and lasting difference, improving the quality of life for children with autism and their families. Supported by New Media Design.
