A collaborative art experience. Ani Hoover inspires the Center for Learning. When we returned to the school we started our own circle painting. Each class chose a season to base the colors in their painting. The students then filled the 9 foot long paper witih bright circular stamps of color. They also used stencils and liquid tempera paint in spray bottles to make more circles. The paint dripped down the paper just like in Ani Hoover's work. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

A collaborative art experience. Today's post comes from Peggy Ross. Peg has been working really hard on refining her art making, right now she is studying the always captivating works of Van Gogh. Van Gogh's colors and textures are a great way for an artist like Peg to expand her visual vocabulary. Below the pictures Peg tells it in her own words. A collaborative art experience. Pottery at the Co-Op. Jody and Sarah trying out the wheel. At the Co-Op art facilitator Jody has been having ceramics classes once a week. This past week she pulled out the big guns, the pottery wheel! Judging from all the pictures the brave guys that tried it out were delighted as well as a little grossed out from the texture of the wet clay. Aspire's iXpress band, will be playing this Thursday, October 15th from 6pm-8pm at the Wegman's on Amherst St. in Buffalo! Come down to the Market Cafe area and rock out to some sweet tunes! Art ideas for students with special needs. Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Many of my student have a hard time using scissors (even ones manufactured for students with disabilities) and holding the the paper at the same time. My school's OT department came up with this wood base to mount the scissors on, so that the students just press the top of the loop while they (or the aide) move the paper along. Student glued cardboard shapes on to a large square of cardboard. Then they rolled it with ink and pressed it onto their paper. Art ideas for students with special needs. Saturday, May 22, 2010. A new Adaptive Easel! A few weeks ago this easel arrived in my room. At my school we have a carpenter that makes adaptive equipment for all the students. His Name is Ron and he is amazing, the school is so lucky to have him. This easel has really made a difference in my classroom. Students of many shapes and sizes can use this easel to experience art. This works especially good for my students with a limited range of motion.
