The Wait Family: Our Adoption Story: Chapter 2
http://teamwait.blogspot.com/2012/07/our-adoption-story-chapter-2.html
Friday, July 27, 2012. Our Adoption Story: Chapter 2. The next part of our story is a happy chapter! Brett and I filled out the first form for Bethany Christian Services and we were invited to the quarterly information meeting. It really was a blessing from God that we turned in this paper work when we did. The meeting was just three days away! If we had waited one more week we would have had to wait another three months till the next info meeting. We couldn't wait to start telling family and friends.

Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Let's Get Started on Paperwork! Paperwork - everyone loves it, right? But it is a fact of life. Pretty much everything these days wants info about you. Name, address, and phone number. Adoption is no different - but they just want to know. A LOT about you. We have gotten our packet of paperwork! Praise God for another step in the process! There are also the times when Ben is having a mini (or big) meltdown and I think, "What if the baby was crying now too? Our social worker just ...

Friday, June 20, 2014. Private vs State Adoptions. I have been asked a couple of times the difference between private adoption and state adoption. For the sake of this discussion we will leave out international adoption. I hope this answers some of your questions. Please let me know if you would like to know anything else. Again, I am not an expert at all, I am learning new things all the time about adoption. Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Will that be cash or check? I should have called it debit or credit!

The Wait Family: September 2014
http://teamwait.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Out paperwork has been completed and turned in. Our references have been contacted and our background checks are underway. We are so excited that things are moving along. The next step is to schedule a home study with the social worker. I am very ready to move onto this next step because after the home study we will be a waiting family! But on the other hand I need a little more time to get my house clean and ready for a home study. But I am also nervous about the interview p...

The Wait Family: Just waiting.....
http://teamwait.blogspot.com/2012/07/just-waiting.html
Monday, July 30, 2012. I have been so encouraged over the past few days by the kind words that so many of you have shared with us. It means more that I could express to hear that people are praying for us and are "in our corner". Yet, but God does. I do understand and trust that He has a plan. And for now that is what I will cling to. 8220;For my thoughts. Are not your thoughts,. Neither are your ways my ways,”. 8220;As the heavens are higher than the earth,. So are my ways higher than your ways. Big Sma...

Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Will that be cash or check? I have shared with you how much to costs to adopt and why those costs are so high. Today I want to share how families actually pay for their adoption. I had to laugh a little when I typed the title of this blog post…. does anyone write checks anymore? I should have called it debit or credit! There are three main ways you can pay for your adoption fees: cash, loan, credit card debt. I will share a little about it of these. Also, the companies that give...

The Wait Family: Adoption 101: A Vocabulary Lesson
http://teamwait.blogspot.com/2012/08/adoption-101-vocabulary-lesson.html
Monday, August 6, 2012. Adoption 101: A Vocabulary Lesson. One of the big challenges we have faced in the adoption process is misinformation, myths, and general lack of knowledge about adoption. We have tried to help educate and correct the misinformation as we have come across it. I personally have not always handled these conversations with kindness and grace and I am very sorry for that. I am working hard to keep the emotions in check and share with a gentle spirit. Natural parents Biological parent(s).
