Accordingly, the course project involves developing new content for Cleveland Historical, a mobile-based curated exhibition developed by CPHDH that draws upon primary sources to tell stories about our region. The theme we will explore is Cleveland medical institutions. You will create new sites on the app by identifying, digitizing, and interpreting historical images and documents that you carefully select for their ability to convey a historical narrative. Dance Floor Digital Story (Final draft). December 13, 2013. Water in the Desert: Or, How Do You Beat the Heat? In the mid 1800s, a gold rush in Arizona brought spectators to Arizona. One spectator, Jack Swilling, saw the potential of the Hohokam canal ruins and began using them to irrigate small areas. In 1868, a settlement called Phoenix emerged. By the 1880s, the Arizona Canal had been formed by another visionary, William J. Murphy. Source for both photos is SRP Archives. The Mably Family, ca. 1890s.
