At The Border…. Laquo; Vegas, Hawaii, Fiji, no Syria! Voice-overs rising like minarets. When we arrived in Allepo, we hauled ass to the citadel before it closed. At around 5pm we were at the top and all the mosques in the city started the call to prayer throughout the city. We had no idea it was about to happen but it was most surreal and most excellent. At The Border…. Today was a good day. At The (Syrian/Jordan) Border. Crossing into Jordan was uneventful at best. Not even a slight Syrian detaining. Paid a departure tax of 500 Syrian pounds($10), did the passport thing and off we went to Jordan. Paid the 20 Jordan Dinars($28) for the Jordan visa and onto Amman. Yep, boring, I know.
