Hannah Rogers: June 2012

Saturday, June 30, 2012. Magdalen: Or, The End of All Things. Instead of a final day of class on Friday (several of us are flying out of London then), Dr. Snyder scheduled a visit to Magdalen College on Thursday. No offense to Christ Church, but I truly wish I could have been a member of Magdalen just so I would have had an excuse to visit every day. Alex and Casey. I think Alex was way more excited. About visiting Oscar Wilde's college than I could. Ever hope to be. Spencer, Lord of the Woodland Realm.

Hannah Rogers: December 2011
http://hannahleerogers.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 31, 2011. Hannah's Top 10 Mainstream Movies of 2011. This year was filled with terrible movies — "Transformers", ANOTHER "Twilight", almost every secondary superhero from Marvel possible and cliche filled romantic comedies (the worst offender being "New Year's Eve"). However, amongst the disappointments, there were a few. Without further ado, here is my list:. 9 Mission Impossible — Ghost Protocol:. 8 Crazy, Stupid, Love:. 3 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two:. It has a gen...

Hannah Rogers: My Last Days as Editor: Part Two
http://hannahleerogers.blogspot.com/2013/04/my-last-days-as-editor-part-two.html
Saturday, April 6, 2013. My Last Days as Editor: Part Two. For the past three years, I've experienced three official Reflector. Staff transitions. As part of training for the next year, the new editor-in-chief hires his or her new staff at the end of March, and the current staff trains its successors for a few papers. Traditionally, the staff for the next year takes over the last three or four papers of the spring semester. But this time, I only have four issues left to teach the new editors (and maybe t...

Hannah Rogers: May 2014

Sunday, May 25, 2014. Why I'm a Feminist and Why You Should Be Too. When I was a kid, I wanted to play with "Star Wars" toys more than dolls, which was considered a disappointment. Middle school was the first time I realized that the majority of the protagonists of books, movies, and television shows that were my "favorites" were male. They were the ones with interesting story lines, history, conversations, and adventures. Indiana Jones saved the day, the girl was the sex object. Around the same time, I ...

Hannah Rogers: My Last Days as Editor of The Reflector: Part One
http://hannahleerogers.blogspot.com/2013/03/my-last-days-as-editor-of-reflector.html
Friday, March 29, 2013. My Last Days as Editor of The Reflector: Part One. I've spent the past four years in a college newsroom. I've spent the last two serving as editor-in-chief of The Reflector. From this summer onward, I keep having the best time of my life — you know, that mythical experience promised to you as you enter college. For the past few years, I've always known what I was going to do the next year. I've always had a plan, and that plan hinged on my ideas and goals for The Reflector. I know...

Hannah Rogers: November 2010
http://hannahleerogers.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 7, 2010. The Peter Anderson Festival: It's Surreal. After the festival ended, we went to the Biloxi mall. Where we discovered the sales racks at Books-A-Million. Julia bought a ton of books and swore she wouldn't buy anything else — then found a really cute coat on sale at Charlotte Russe and ended up getting that as well. Rachel: I don't want to do this. I'm going to sleep. Hannah: I'll get the lights. It was ten fifteen. I'm really excited for that. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hannah R...

Wednesday, April 10, 2013. My Last Days as Editor: I'm Sitting At My Desk . I'm almost out of time. That's not to say that my life will end at 22, as I walk out the door of The Reflector. Office on Friday after I turn in my keys. Or after I give my speech (that I still haven't written yet) at the banquet Saturday. I debated ethical concerns over articles using anonymous sources with our adviser and staff members. Somehow, as a freshman, I was hired to be entertainment editor. I wrote and planned stor...

Hannah Rogers: Scotland: Or, How I Found the Tardis
http://hannahleerogers.blogspot.com/2013/03/scotland-or-how-i-found-tardis.html
Friday, March 29, 2013. Scotland: Or, How I Found the Tardis. The bus ride was one of the worst experiences of my life. The less said about said bus ride, the better. Because we didn't book a hostel before leaving for Edinburgh, Josh and I went on a search for wi-fi in order to do so. So with little to no sleep, we pulled our bags across the (very hilly) city. Someone wanted to stop at McDonald's. It wasn't me. But the point is, we eventually found a hostel, took a nap, and start having adventures. I'm t...

Further up and Further in. November 14, 2010. Posted by Libbie under Uncategorized. 8230;to my life. AND, because getting my observation hours for my application process has been hard to do with a full-time job, having these few hours a week where I HAVE to be at PT is super helpful. A blessing in disguise, really. Then there’s the whole not-being-able-to-run thing. It’s easy for me to look back at how well running was going for me right up until August 29 and think “why? So there’s that. On another note...

Further up and Further in. February 18, 2010. Posted by Libbie under Uncategorized. Amy My small room friend. My physical therapy-ing friend. Owner of such a tender heart. Pretty sure I don’t know many people who take such. To listen the way she does. She is a lover of Jesus and all of the things He is about. She likes the simple things….and probably finds them really funny. She challenges me to run to Jesus, with everything. She also challenges me to run better, period. February 10, 2010.
