The My Wife Has Cancer Blog. Friday, June 26, 2009. It's interesting to see where people go when they want answers to life's questions. One of the big unanswered questions is "what does the future hold? Fresno has at least three palm readers. Once I was tempted to call one of those telephone psychics who advertise on t.v. just to entertain myself. I've always suspected the psychic's game is to "phish" for the subjects that goose their subjects, then feed them what they want to hear. With every promise I ...

Software and Beer: October 2006
http://stevejmitchell.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 31, 2006. What does the world think of you? Finding out what the world thinks of you is still pretty hard when you've got a common name like mine. There was once a time (pre-Google) when I could search for my name on the internet and actually find reference to me. Not any more. There's no mention of me in Google if I don't disambiguate the search with some other criteria in addition to my name. Posted by Steve at 8:20 AM. Links to this post. Friday, June 23, 2006. Wired News: Test Tube Meat Nears Dinner Table. I'm not sure what sounds better. Meat material grown in a factory in a fungus soup. Or "natural" meat harvested from a slaughtered animal who has wallowed in its own slop most of its life while being fed brain matter of other animals. Either way, I'll be firin' up the grill this weekend. :). Posted by Steve at 11:23 AM. Links to this post. Wednesday, June 21, 2006. So, if you need a past or future date from today, UNIX date command makes it a piece of cake. I was asked by a friend on this:. Date - date='28 days ago' %Y%m%d. Date -r $( `date %s` - 2419200) %Y%m%d. I have not tried it, but it should work on FreeBSD:. Date -v -28d %Y%m%d. Sunday, March 09, 2008. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Http:/ www.maxtsai.com/.
