Aunti Nicole's Corner: October 2012

http://auntinicolescorner.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 14, 2012. T-shirt Quilt for Hubby! Have you ever made a T-shirt quilt? Does your husband have old shirts that he just won't throw away? Even though they are so old he will never wear them again? My friend Nancy Chocek did a t-shirt quilt workshop a couple of weeks ago. I seizes the opportunity to make my husband clean out his t-shirt drawer. He was willing since it was for a good cause.a quilt for him ;]. The orange I bought at Beyond the Reef. Aunti Nicole's Corner: September 2012

http://auntinicolescorner.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 2, 2012. My niece Megan (right) is here with her sister Marisa. Megan has entered her quilt in my Mom's guild show. Her piece was hand appliqued and she did a fantastic job. Her applique stitches are invisible, a talent that takes years to master. I am so proud of her! And look. are those ribbons? I'll have to find out the scoop on that. I managed to do a bunch of quilting in August. Just put the last stitch in a baby quilt for my cousin Julie. She is due this month. Links to this post.

Aunti Nicole's Corner: A Voyage of Friendship

Friday, September 5, 2014. A Voyage of Friendship. Some of you may be wondering where I have been. Well.its a long story. Here is the short edited version. Pete and I transferred our jobs up to Oregon. We both managed to keep our jobs of 15 years and work the same companies in different states. We love Oregon, love the rain and the green. But before it made it there, I sent it to my Mom for her Shasta Lily Guild - Quilt Show last weekend. My quilt took first place in the Large quilt division. The...Viewe...

http://auntinicolescorner.blogspot.com/2013/02/budding-quilters.html

Sunday, February 10, 2013. Yesterday I got to spend my Saturday with a couple of budding young quilters. Amanda and Tessa King spent about 5 hours with me yesterday. Breath.Time for a break. so we took a break. Had a yummy snack. Apples, beef jerky, chicken. Went for a short walk. And back to make the next one.or is it two ;] muah-ha-ha! Aunti Nicole's Corner: 4 Patch Posie - La Japonaise

http://auntinicolescorner.blogspot.com/2013/07/4-patch-posie-la-japonaise.html

Sunday, July 21, 2013. 4 Patch Posie - La Japonaise. I haven't had anything I could share for a little while. Have been working on some top secret stuff and working on our Flying Geese Quilt Show coming up this September. I am in charge of vendors this year at the show. Its fun to see how all the different pieces of the show work. This one only uses 4 repeat instead of 8 and squares are pretty easy to handle. Sorry about the poor quality photos, I'm a quilter not a photographer ;]. If you are every wonde...

Sew Sue: Back to quilting...hopefully!

http://alizabethsue.blogspot.com/2010/11/back-to-quiltinghopefully.html

Adventures in life and sewing! Monday, November 8, 2010. Back to quilting.hopefully! I cannot believe how busy we have been for the past few months. There seems to be a constant stream of activities, and while I know I don't need to do everything, I love to keep busy. My quilting time has suffered greatly and I need to get back on it. Hopefully I can get some done before Thanksgiving and Christmas. I will post my progress as it happens! I hope to share lots of great projects with you on this blog.

Sew Sue: House Blocks from Bee Splendid

http://alizabethsue.blogspot.com/2010/11/house-blocks-from-bee-splendid.html

Adventures in life and sewing! Sunday, November 7, 2010. House Blocks from Bee Splendid. October was my month in the Bee Splendid virtual quilting bee. I chose to have everyone make two house blocks. Each member received a few scraps in a variety of colors and Kona white to set the houses in. I have been thrilled with what my fellow bee members have created! Each house is unique and shows the personality and style of each quilter. I absolutely love each and every block they have made! They look so cute!

Fiber, watercolor, oil, mixed media, and other stuff! Friday, August 7, 2015. Pelican on Pier - Where the Idea Came From. This is my "Pelican on Pier" fiber art piece that I made for the Beyond the Edge. Boundless Exhibit. It is 18" wide by 36" high and mounted on a stretched canvas. The tail and part of the head/beak extend beyond the canvas. I love the presentation on the canvas. The inspiration for this piece came from a young pelican on the Balboa pier. Fiber, watercolor, oil, mixed media, and other stuff! Sunday, August 30, 2015. From Cottons to Silks. Cotton fabric is wonderful on art quilts, especially when you are painting the fabric yourself. I use it for most backgrounds and painted pieces. It gives a smooth appearance that is clean looking. But. I love using more exotic fabrics on my art quilts. Fiber, watercolor, oil, mixed media, and other stuff! Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Adding Embroidery Stitches to a Fiber Art Piece. Embellishments can add a wonderful additional layer of artistry on a quilt, and one option is to use embroidery stitches. They pop off the top giving texture, and three dimensionality (is that a word? You don’t need to know a bunch of different embroidery stitches. In fact, a straight line (running stitch or back stitch) goes a long way. Thanks for visiting my blog! Today&#821...

Quilt with Jane: June 2010

http://quiltwithjane.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Quilting and family related pictures and tidbits. Sunday, June 6, 2010. First Saturday - June 2010. Yesterday was First Saturday at Tater Patch Quilts, Merrill Oregon. It's a monthly party to find out what's new in the shop and the quilt world. We drive from Weed and Mt. Shasta ( 70 miles), but it's well worth it. We laugh, admire and sometimes buy new fabrics and tools, and spend a day with 80 or so of our closest friends (even if you don't know all their names). I really want to know.
