Alana, Su and Lindsey hike the AT. About the Appalachian Trail. Jug End Rd to VT 9 (Trail Magic house! July 11, 2015. Day 107 (6th July): Jug End Rd to Mt Wilcox South Shelters – 16.2 miles. We spent a glorious evening at Red Panda’s house last night. We ordered a ginormous cheese pizza and had four different types of ice cream for dessert. We hung out, chatted and all got to bed by 9pm – bliss! Shelter fun… Before Hawk Eye descended! I would never go back in to the woods after an experience like that!

Smith Shelter – 16.7 miles. Rocks… Rocks, rocks, rocks! I actually had to talk myself out of bursting in to tears when I got stuck halfway up, and eventually just threw my poles out of the way. Once I’d calmed down, we all strapped our poles to our packs and it was much easier (and dare I say fun? The wall of rock!
