Life in Costa Rica. On Thursday, June 30, 2011. Yesterday my group went on a canopy tour- my favorite one here in Monteverde, Extremo. I must have done this tour eight or more times by now. At the end of the tour a young man approached me and began speaking in Spanish, asking me about CPI. He studied at CPI Heredia for six months some years ago and is now doing a Peace Corps program here teaching English in San Rafael de Abangares. What a small world! He asked. "For real? It made me smile. Pura Vida : ).

Life in Costa Rica. I have been robbed. On Thursday, April 28, 2011. Estoy de chicha. (I am upset.). I never turn my phone off, since I need to be reachable at all times in case of emergency. Nor could it be out of service range, as i have made and taken phone calls from my room over the course of the last trhee weeks. So.I hate to even think of it, but what if it was stolen? Life in Costa Rica. On Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Starting to think about things I will miss when I go back to the USA: at the stop of the list is fresh fruit and veggies. There won't be a farmer's market I can walk to every Friday afternoon to buy a kilo of pejibayes or tomatoes, mamonchinos or yuca. The pineapple won't be as sweet. My Mama Tica and I are saving the best for last: oatmeal brownies. On top of the ice cream cake I wanted to put a little Cool Whip.and was dismayed to not find it in the Mega Super.
